Hifonics BXX6000.1D Brutus Mono Class D Amplifier
$738.00
AUDIO360 AD0C 0 AWG Amplifier Wiring Kit
$78.00
The Hifonics BXX6000.1D is a Brutus-series mono car amplifier intended for powering a subwoofer system from a dedicated single-channel output. It is rated at 1,500 watts RMS at 4 ohms, 3,000 watts RMS at 2 ohms, and 6,000 watts RMS at 1 ohm. This makes it suited to installs where subwoofer wiring, amplifier capability, and the vehicle electrical system are planned together.
Its mono-only layout focuses the amplifier on low-frequency duty rather than full-range speaker amplification. An onboard electronic crossover, low-pass filtering, subsonic filtering, bass EQ, and phase adjustment provide system-tuning controls for matching the amplifier to a subwoofer enclosure and front-speaker setup. A wired bass remote is included for convenient adjustment from the driver’s seat.
The BXX6000.1D uses Hifonics Super D-Class circuitry with an NGSD digital chip and Ultra-Fi MOSFET output devices. This design is intended to provide efficient amplified output while helping manage heat during operation. The aluminum heatsink is designed to dissipate heat from the output section.
Audio signal is accepted through RCA inputs with nickel-plated RCA jacks. The amplifier also uses nickel-plated connection hardware and Allen-head set screws to secure power, ground, and speaker wiring. Its angled, molded connection layout is intended to simplify cable routing in an amplifier rack or trunk installation.
This amplifier is a practical fit for a purpose-built bass upgrade using one or more subwoofers wired to a safe final impedance of no less than 1 ohm. It requires suitable power and ground wiring, an inline fuse near the battery, RCA signal cabling, a remote turn-on lead, and correctly matched subwoofers. Because of the available power ratings, professional installation and careful gain/crossover setup are advisable.
Key Features
- Mono Subwoofer Amplifier: Single-channel design concentrates output on a dedicated bass system.
- Three RMS Power Ratings: Supports 1,500W at 4 ohms, 3,000W at 2 ohms, and 6,000W at 1 ohm.
- Super D-Class Circuitry: Uses an NGSD digital chip and Ultra-Fi MOSFET output devices.
- Onboard Bass Tuning: Provides crossover, low-pass, subsonic, bass EQ, and phase controls.
- Wired Bass Remote: Lets the driver adjust bass level from a convenient mounted location.
- Protection Diagnostics: Illuminated indicators report normal operation, overload, and speaker-short conditions.
Design & Installation
The amplifier uses a classic aluminum Hifonics heatsink design to help limit heat buildup around the output devices. Nickel-plated RCA jacks and high-temperature, impact-resistant nickel-plated connection hardware are designed for secure, corrosion-resistant connections. Angled molded terminals support a cleaner wiring profile and easier access during installation.
Mount the BXX6000.1D securely in a dry location with room for airflow around the heatsink. Connect it directly to vehicle battery power through a properly fused power cable, use a short solid chassis ground, and wire connected subwoofers to a final load of at least 1 ohm. Set gain, low-pass filter, subsonic filter, bass EQ, and phase conservatively before final tuning, and use the included wired remote only after the system is adjusted for clean operation.

Can this amplifier power door speakers?
The BXX6000.1D is a mono-only amplifier designed for bass and subwoofer use. Its onboard low-pass and subsonic controls are intended for subwoofer-system tuning rather than full-range speaker amplification.
What subwoofer impedance can I use?
The amplifier is rated for 4-ohm, 2-ohm, and 1-ohm loads. The connected subwoofer or subwoofer combination must be wired to a final impedance no lower than 1 ohm.
What power does it provide at different impedances?
Manufacturer-stated RMS output is 1,500 watts at 4 ohms, 3,000 watts at 2 ohms, and 6,000 watts at 1 ohm. Select subwoofers and final wiring based on their RMS handling and final load.
Is a bass knob included?
Yes. A wired bass remote control is included and can be mounted in a convenient location in the vehicle.
What else is needed for installation?
Installation requires appropriate power, ground, remote-turn-on, RCA signal, speaker wiring, and an inline fuse near the battery. The amplifier should be mounted securely with adequate ventilation and connected to a properly matched subwoofer load.
