The Hifonics BXX1200.1D is a mono car audio amplifier designed to power a subwoofer system from a single channel. It is intended for listeners building or upgrading a bass-focused system and needing an amplifier rated for low-impedance subwoofer loads. Its 1-ohm stability allows compatible subwoofers to be configured for up to 1,200 watts of rated output.

This amplifier provides 400 watts at 4 ohms, 600 watts at 2 ohms, and 1,200 watts at 1 ohm. That range gives installers flexibility when matching a subwoofer or multiple subwoofers with different final wiring impedances. A variable low-pass crossover, subsonic filter, bass boost, and phase adjustment help tailor the subwoofer section to the vehicle and enclosure.

The BXX1200.1D uses a Super Class D design with an NGSD digital chip and Ultra-Fi MOSFET output devices. Its pulse-width-modulated MOSFET power supply is designed to maintain power delivery as listening demands change. The result is a compact monoblock amplifier format suited to dedicated low-frequency duty.

System controls include a variable 30-250 Hz low-pass filter, a 15-35 Hz subsonic filter, and adjustable bass boost from 0 to +10 dB. These controls allow the amplifier to be integrated with full-range speakers powered by a separate amplifier or receiver. A wired bass level remote is included for convenient adjustment from the listening position.

For expansion, the amplifier includes RCA inputs and RCA preamp outputs for passing signal to another amplifier. Dual speaker terminals simplify connecting multiple subwoofer leads while maintaining the correct final impedance. LED power and protection indicators, soft-start turn-on, and thermal, overload, and speaker-short protection support day-to-day system monitoring.

Install the amplifier on a solid, ventilated surface away from direct moisture and excessive heat. Match the subwoofer wiring to a final load no lower than 1 ohm, use appropriately sized power wiring, and use the onboard crossover controls to blend the subwoofer with the rest of the system.
