The Hifonics Brutus BRL2000.1 is a mono car audio amplifier designed to power a subwoofer system with substantial output from a compact chassis. A selectable illuminated logo provides constant blue lighting, VU meter operation, or an off setting. In VU meter mode, the logo responds to audio level and can assist with gain adjustment. The amplifier also includes delayed turn-on circuitry to help minimize unwanted turn-on and turn-off noise.

The BRL2000.1 fits into a system using RCA-level signal connections and a properly matched subwoofer load. Its secure molded power, ground, and speaker terminals are angled for access and cleaner wire routing. Built-in protection circuits monitor over- and under-voltage, short circuit, overcurrent, and thermal conditions.

Mount the amplifier securely in a location with ventilation and access to its controls and terminals. Use appropriately sized power, ground, speaker, and external fuse wiring; the amplifier accepts 2 AWG power and ground cable and 12 AWG speaker wire. Match the subwoofer wiring to a supported 1-ohm, 2-ohm, or 4-ohm load, then set gain, crossover, and bass boost carefully during system tuning.
