The Hertz X 690 is a pair of 6x9-inch four-way coaxial car speakers designed for vehicles with compatible factory 6x9 speaker locations. It provides an all-in-one replacement solution by combining woofer, tweeter, and super-tweeter elements in each speaker. This makes it a practical option for upgrading worn factory speakers while retaining a conventional coaxial installation format.

With 85 watts continuous power handling, 340 watts peak power handling, and a 4-ohm impedance, the X 690 is suited to systems using a compatible aftermarket head unit or amplifier. Its 94 dB SPL sensitivity supports useful output from modest available power. The rated 45 Hz to 22 kHz frequency response covers bass, midrange, and upper-frequency reproduction within one speaker assembly.

The four-way design uses a 40 mm PEI tweeter and two 15 mm piezoelectric super-tweeters above the 6x9 woofer. This arrangement is intended to extend high-frequency output beyond 20 kHz while keeping the additional drivers integrated into the coaxial speaker. The tweeter and super-tweeter faceplate is designed for off-axis listening positions common in vehicle interiors.

For low- and mid-frequency output, Hertz uses a water-repellent pressed-paper cone with a foam surround. The woofer employs a 25 mm pure-copper voice coil and a high-density-flux ferrite magnet. These materials are paired with a stated mechanical excursion of ±4.3 mm.

The X 690 can be used as a direct-format upgrade in compatible 6x9 door, rear-deck, or other OEM speaker locations. Its DIN-size basket is finished with abrasion-resistant dust paint, and Hertz lists grilles as included. Before installation, compare the vehicle opening and available depth with the published physical dimensions and allow clearance for the speaker's integrated driver assembly.

The X 690 uses a metallic-grey, high-stiffness pressed-paper cone with water-repellent treatment and a foam surround. Its woofer has a 25 mm pure-copper voice coil, while the 40 mm PEI tweeter uses a ferrite motor. The basket is DIN-size and protected by abrasion-resistant dust paint.

Confirm that the vehicle accepts 6x9-inch speakers and check the manufacturer's A through I physical measurements before purchase.
