The HERTZ MPS250S4-1 is a 10-inch shallow-mount car subwoofer designed for systems where enclosure depth is limited. Its 4-ohm single voice coil configuration and 500-watt continuous power rating make it suitable for a dedicated mono amplifier channel. It is intended for compact subwoofer installations such as under-seat or rear-bench enclosures.

This Mille PRO shallow subwoofer is optimized for small sealed enclosures, with a manufacturer-developed sealed design using 14.2 liters (0.5 cu. ft.) of internal volume. That makes it a practical option when a traditional deep subwoofer box will not fit. The design can provide low-frequency support without requiring a large enclosure footprint.

The polypropylene cone and high-density flux ferrite magnet are paired with a 38 mm, six-layer copper voice coil. Hertz specifies 1,000 watts peak handling and a 25 Hz to 400 Hz frequency response. Its 83.5 dB sensitivity and 29 Hz resonant frequency help define the driver’s system requirements.

Hertz uses a dedicated spider and voice-coil support structure to move the magnetic assembly inward and preserve cone travel in a shallow format. The MPS250S4-1 has 20 mm of Xmech mechanical excursion and 16.8 mm Xmax. Its Air Intercooling Revolution design is intended to reduce air-compression-related limitations inside compact enclosures.

The subwoofer can be used in a sealed or reflex enclosure when built to Hertz’s published designs. A sealed enclosure favors a compact installation, while the published reflex design uses more space and is tuned for stronger output in its intended operating range. Pair it with an amplifier suited to a 4-ohm load and configure crossover settings appropriate for the rest of the vehicle audio system.

The MPS250S4-1 uses a die-cast aluminum frame, polypropylene cone, high-density flux ferrite magnet, and non-vented rear structure. It includes a robust mesh grille with black mounting screws. Horizontal spring-loaded terminals accept up to 8 AWG speaker cable.

Confirm available mounting depth, enclosure volume, and a 232 mm mounting cutout before installation. Hertz publishes sealed and reflex enclosure designs for this model, both using 16 mm wood; the compact sealed design is the more space-efficient option. Use a compatible 4-ohm amplifier, secure the driver with the specified mounting hardware, and set the low-pass and subsonic filters according to the enclosure type.
