The Hertz MP 250 D4.3 is a 10-inch component subwoofer designed for car audio systems that need substantial low-frequency output without requiring an oversized enclosure. Its dual 4-ohm voice coil configuration gives system designers flexibility when matching the subwoofer to a compatible amplifier. It is intended for custom enclosures and aftermarket bass upgrades rather than factory replacement locations.

With 600 watts continuous power handling and 1,200 watts peak power handling, the MP 250 D4.3 is suited to dedicated subwoofer amplification. Its 83.5 dB sensitivity and 27 Hz resonant frequency support a low-frequency-focused system design. The subwoofer uses a 65 mm, four-layer CCAW voice coil to manage sustained power demands.

The pressed-pulp cone incorporates mineral powders for rigidity and damping, while the exponential V-cone profile is shaped to resist deformation during high excursion. A Boundary Free IIR rubber surround increases the available radiating area while maintaining the nominal 10-inch format. Together, these elements support controlled cone motion for bass reproduction in sealed or reflex enclosures.

Hertz builds the MP 250 D4.3 around a high-density-flux ferrite motor and a vented TIL-P voice-coil former. Venting behind the winding helps dissipate heat from the coil assembly. The aluminium alloy basket uses a six-spoke structure with venting beneath the spider to support airflow and reduce basket resonance.

This subwoofer can be the bass foundation for a Mille Pro-based system or a standalone upgraded subwoofer stage. Hertz specifies sealed-box use starting at 17 liters, with a 22-liter reflex design also provided by the manufacturer. Its compact enclosure recommendations make it appropriate where controlled bass performance and practical box size both matter.

Design & Installation

The MP 250 D4.3 uses a high-density-flux ferrite magnet, pressed-pulp mineral cone, IIR rubber surround, and anti-resonant aluminium alloy basket. Its basket has six spokes, built-in venting below the spider, and a CNC-machined diamond-cut edge. The terminal block includes a protective plastic cover and accepts speaker cable up to 8 AWG.

Plan for a 236 mm (9.29-inch) mounting cutout and approximately 141 mm (5.55 inches) of mounting depth behind the mounting surface. Hertz specifies a sealed enclosure starting at 17 liters (0.60 cu. ft.) and also publishes a 22-liter (0.78 cu. ft.) reflex enclosure design.
