The Hertz HMS 10 S2-LD-G is a 10-inch, 2-ohm marine subwoofer made to add dedicated low-frequency output to boat and marine audio systems. Its gray sport grille incorporates RGB LED lighting for a coordinated illuminated installation. The subwoofer is designed for installations where a dedicated enclosure is not practical, helping bring fuller bass response to open-air marine environments.

This model is suited to boat owners building or upgrading a marine sound system with a compatible 2-ohm amplifier channel. With 300 watts continuous power handling and 600 watts peak power handling, it is intended for systems that need more low-end capacity than full-range speakers can provide alone. Adding a subwoofer also lets the main speakers focus on midrange and high-frequency reproduction.

The HMS 10 S2-LD-G uses a long-throw 50 mm voice coil, high-density-flux ferrite magnet, and high-excursion moving assembly. Its 12.3 mm Xmax and ±16.3 mm mechanical excursion are designed to support controlled cone travel. The polypropylene cone with UV inhibitors and co-molded Santoprene surround are selected for marine exposure and sustained operation.

Marine-focused construction includes a polymer-injected basket, aramid-fiber spider, silicone-insulated lead wires, and gold-plated corrosion-resistant brass terminals. A silicone cap protects the lead-wire junction point. Hertz rates the model IP65 and identifies UV-resistance testing to ASTM-D4329 and salt-fog operability testing to ASTM-B117.

The sound-transparent gray sport grille is removable and can be painted to suit a vessel's finish. Integrated RGB lighting can be used with the optional Hertz HM RGB 1 BK controller. For system design flexibility, Hertz engineers this subwoofer for infinite-baffle use and also publishes compact and performance sealed-box configurations.

Design & Installation

The HMS 10 S2-LD-G combines a UV-inhibited polypropylene cone, co-molded Santoprene surround, aramid-fiber spider, ferrite magnetic assembly, and marine-grade polymer basket. Its gray polymer sport grille is sound-transparent, removable, and paintable. Gold-plated brass terminals and a silicone protective cap address connection-point durability in marine installations.

Verify the 2-ohm amplifier compatibility, available mounting space, and mounting-hole requirements before installation. Hertz lists a 230 mm (9.06-inch) mounting hole for its sealed-box designs and a 116 mm (4.56-inch) product depth. The subwoofer can be used in an infinite-baffle location or in one of Hertz's published sealed enclosure alignments; RGB lighting requires the separately available HM RGB 1 BK controller.
