Hertz HD14H 6x9 Saddlebag Lid Speaker Kit with Harness

The Hertz HD14H is a motorcycle saddlebag-lid speaker installation kit with a dedicated speaker harness for select Harley-Davidson touring motorcycles. It provides the hardware and wiring needed to add 6x9-inch speakers to compatible non-speaker saddlebag lids. Speakers are not included.

This kit is intended for riders building or expanding a motorcycle audio system and wanting a clean saddlebag speaker location. The included grille and mounting structure are designed to integrate into the saddlebag lids after the required cutting process. It is a practical fit for systems using Hertz SX 690 NEO.1 speakers.

HD14H combines the HD14 lid-installation components with a four-part speaker wire harness. The harness is designed for plug-and-play connection within the compatible motorcycle application, helping route speaker wiring from the motorcycle to each saddlebag. Proper cable routing is important to avoid moving, hot, or pinch-prone areas.

The kit includes grilles, speaker mounting structures, cut templates, gaskets, and installation hardware for a matched left-and-right saddlebag setup. The grilles measure 6.47 by 9.19 inches and provide a finished appearance over the speaker locations. Adhesive speaker gaskets are included to help prevent water infiltration around the mounts.

HD14H is an installation accessory rather than a powered audio component, so it does not have amplifier power ratings or speaker impedance specifications. Pair it with compatible 6x9-inch speakers, suitable amplification, and the appropriate motorcycle audio source equipment. Confirm motorcycle fitment and lid-lock configuration before purchase or installation.

Design & Installation

The HD14H uses purpose-designed grilles and speaker mounting structures for a coordinated saddlebag-lid installation. Its grilles have a high-gloss black, paintable finish, while the kit is described as using weather-resistant material. The design retains use of the motorcycle's factory hinge and latch hardware where applicable.

Installation requires removal of the saddlebags and lid hardware, masking and cutting the lids with the supplied templates, mounting the grille and speaker structure, and routing the harness through a grommet opening. Hertz specifies a 3 mm pilot hole for template mounting, a 10 mm starter hole for cutting, and a 16 mm saddlebag hole for the speaker-wire grommet. The kit is not compatible with factory-equipped electric lid locks, and speakers, cable-tie mounts, audio source equipment, and amplification are not included.
