The Fender Tone Master Princeton Reverb is a compact 1x10-inch digital guitar combo amplifier designed to recreate the control layout, response, and 12-watt performance character of a Princeton Reverb tube amp. It gives guitarists a familiar American-style clean platform with onboard reverb and tremolo in a lighter, more portable format. This is a guitar amplifier, not a car-audio component, and is intended for instrument use, rehearsal, recording, and stage applications.

A 10-inch Jensen C10R ceramic-magnet speaker handles the amp's onboard sound, delivering clear articulation and a focused single-speaker presentation. The two-input layout supports guitars and other instruments with 1/4-inch outputs, with Input 2 set 6 dB lower for reduced sensitivity. Front-panel Volume, Treble, Bass, Reverb, Speed, and Intensity controls make it straightforward to shape the core sound and effects.

Fender uses proprietary DSP modeling and a 50-watt digital power amplifier to simulate the dynamics and performance of a 12-watt Princeton tube amp. The output-power selector provides full power plus five attenuated settings, allowing the overall loudness to be adjusted for rooms, practice, or venues. This approach lets players set the front-panel volume for the desired response and then tailor output level separately.

Convolution-based reverb and tremolo provide the amp's built-in effects section. Reverb level, tremolo speed, and tremolo intensity are adjustable from the front panel, while the included two-button footswitch can turn reverb and tremolo on or off. The result is a self-contained setup for players who want classic-style amp effects without requiring separate pedals.

For connection beyond the onboard speaker, the Tone Master Princeton Reverb includes a balanced XLR line output with level control and ground lift. Cabinet simulation can be set to off or to built-in IR profiles for close-miked dynamic or ribbon microphone voicings, and the XLR output stays active when the power amp is muted. A USB port supports firmware updates, including compatibility with Fender's Tone Master IR Manager features.

Key Features

  • Digital Princeton Modeling: Proprietary DSP models the circuitry and 12-watt performance of a Princeton tube amplifier.
  • 10-Inch Jensen C10R Speaker: A single ceramic-magnet Jensen speaker provides the amp's onboard guitar output.
  • Six Output-Power Positions: Full power plus five attenuated settings help match overall volume to the room.
  • Reverb And Tremolo: Built-in effects include adjustable reverb level and tremolo speed and intensity.
  • Balanced XLR Line Output: Connect directly to compatible PA or recording equipment with level and ground-lift controls.
  • IR Cabinet Simulation: Select no cabinet simulation or built-in close-miked dynamic and ribbon IR profiles.

Design & Installation

The amplifier uses a lightweight solid-pine cabinet covered in black textured vinyl, with silver-strand grille cloth and a black front panel. Vintage-style skirted black plastic knobs, a molded plastic strap handle with nickel-plated caps, and a multi-color power jewel maintain the traditional Fender combo-amp format. At 19.9 pounds, it is designed for easier transport than many traditional tube combos.

Connect a guitar or compatible instrument to either front 1/4-inch input, using Input 1 for full sensitivity or Input 2 for a 6 dB lower-sensitivity input. Connect the included two-button footswitch to control reverb and tremolo, and use the balanced XLR output for a PA system or recording interface when needed. For silent-stage or recording use, engage Mute to silence the power amp while keeping the XLR line output active.
