The BOSS ACS-LIVE Acoustic Singer Live is a 60-watt combo amplifier designed for performers who sing and play acoustic-electric guitar. It combines dedicated guitar and microphone channels in one compact stage amp, reducing the need to carry separate vocal and instrument amplification for many small performance setups. Independent channel controls allow players to shape guitar and vocal sound separately.

The bi-amp speaker system uses a 6.5-inch woofer and a 1-inch dome tweeter to reproduce acoustic guitar detail alongside vocals. Its guitar input is built for pickup-equipped guitars and provides a high 5-megohm input impedance. A dedicated mic channel supports either an XLR microphone connection or a 1/4-inch TRS source.

Acoustic Resonance processing is included on the guitar channel to restore some of the natural body character that can be reduced by piezo-equipped stage guitars. Three selectable Acoustic Resonance voicings provide full, bright, or brilliant tonal emphasis. Separate three-band EQ sections, phase controls, and notch-based anti-feedback controls help tailor each channel for the room and performance volume.

For singer-guitarists, the built-in Harmony function analyzes the guitar input in real time to generate vocal harmony. High, low, and unison harmony modes are available, while the reference pitch can be adjusted from 437 Hz to 443 Hz. The built-in mono looper records up to 40 seconds and supports playback and overdubbing for practice or live accompaniment.

The ACS-LIVE can serve as a self-contained amplifier or connect to a PA system, recorder, headphones, or computer. Its pair of XLR DI/line outputs can send a mixed signal or separate mic and guitar signals with effects or as direct signals. USB audio support, an aux input, and foot-control connections make it a practical center point for acoustic performance and recording setups.

Key Features

  • 60W Bi-Amp System: Separately powers the woofer and tweeter for acoustic guitar and vocal reproduction.
  • Dual Analog Channels: Provides independent level, EQ, and feedback control for mic and guitar sources.
  • Acoustic Resonance: Adds selectable resonance character for pickup-equipped acoustic guitars.
  • Automatic Vocal Harmony: Uses real-time guitar chord analysis to create high, low, or unison vocal parts.
  • Integrated Effects: Adds chorus to guitar, delay or echo to vocals, and independent reverb to both channels.
  • Assignable XLR Outputs: Sends mixed or separate mic and guitar signals to a PA or recorder.

Design & Installation

The ACS-LIVE is a compact two-way acoustic combo amplifier with a custom 6.5-inch woofer, a 1-inch dome tweeter, and an integrated tilt-back design for upward projection. Its cabinet construction is engineered to reduce unwanted resonances, while the front panel keeps the guitar, mic, harmony, looper, and master controls accessible during performance. A tweeter attenuation control is also provided to soften the high-frequency response when needed.

Connect a pickup-equipped acoustic guitar to the 1/4-inch guitar input and a vocal microphone to the combo mic input, then set each channel volume before raising the master level. Use the phase and anti-feedback controls if feedback occurs, and connect the XLR DI/line outputs when feeding a PA system or recorder. A standard USB 2.0 cable and the required BOSS driver are needed for computer audio, while compatible optional footswitches, expression pedals, and the Roland GA-FC can extend hands-free control.
