Audison APBX10DS Prima 10" Sealed Subwoofer Enclosure

The Audison APBX10DS is a passive 10-inch subwoofer system supplied in a compact, sealed enclosure. It is designed for adding controlled low-frequency output to a vehicle audio system without building a custom subwoofer box. Its 12-liter enclosure and shallow overall profile help make it practical for trunk installations where available space is limited.

This model uses a dual 4-ohm subwoofer configuration and is rated for 400 watts continuous power handling and 800 watts peak power handling. It is intended for use with an external subwoofer amplifier, rather than operating as a powered enclosure. The sealed-box design supports a concise, controlled bass character suited to a wide range of music.

The enclosure uses Audison's 2S², or 2 Sides/2 Sounds, layout. It can be installed with the driver facing down to emphasize low-frequency extension, or facing up for a more direct presentation with added punch and definition. This gives installers flexibility to tune placement around cargo-space and listening priorities.

The APBX10DS is built around the APS 10 D driver, with a high-density flux ferrite motor and a water-repellent pressed-paper cone. Its cone, dustcap, and basket geometry is engineered for long linear excursion, specified at 11 mm one-way. A substantial motor assembly optimized with FEM modeling helps maintain driver control during higher-excursion operation.

For system integration, the enclosure includes Audison's SSP Sub Smart Plug connection system, combining conventional push terminals with a plug-and-play terminal block. It was developed to pair with compatible Audison amplified and DSP-based systems, while its passive design also leaves amplifier selection to the installer. Leveling feet with Velcro inserts and a supplied metal protection grille support practical everyday installation and use.

The APBX10DS uses a sealed, ultra-low-profile cabinet with rounded corners that aid positioning and help reinforce the enclosure structure. Its 10-inch driver combines a high-density flux ferrite magnet with a water-repellent pressed-paper cone. The supplied metal grille provides driver protection, while leveling feet with Velcro inserts help keep the enclosure stable on carpeted surfaces.

This is a passive subwoofer enclosure and requires an external amplifier plus appropriate signal routing and power wiring. Confirm amplifier stability and configure the 4+4-ohm impedance through the SSP connection system before final wiring. The enclosure may be mounted driver-up or driver-down, but allow clearance for the grille, feet, wiring connection, and driver movement.
