The RØDE NT-USB+ is a USB condenser microphone designed to capture clear voice, vocal, and instrument recordings directly to a computer, tablet, or compatible smartphone. It provides a streamlined alternative to a separate XLR microphone, audio interface, and preamp setup. Its class-compliant USB connection supports straightforward plug-and-play use for recording, streaming, calls, and content creation.

This microphone is suited to podcasters, musicians, streamers, voice-over creators, and remote workers who want a dedicated desktop microphone. Its cardioid pickup pattern focuses on sound from the front of the microphone while helping reduce pickup from behind it. The included pop filter helps reduce plosive bursts when recording speech and vocals.

The NT-USB+ uses a studio-grade condenser capsule with a pressure-gradient acoustic design and an ultra-low-noise Revolution Preamp. It supports 24-bit, 48 kHz digital audio over USB-C for detailed recordings without requiring an external audio interface. With a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range and 118 dB maximum input SPL at 10% THD, it can be used for spoken word, singing, and instruments.

A built-in 3.5 mm headphone output supports direct, zero-latency monitoring while recording or streaming. Dedicated headphone level and monitor-mix controls allow the user to balance microphone monitoring with audio coming from the connected device. This makes it easier to hear performance and playback without the delayed monitoring that can occur through software.

For users who want additional voice shaping, the NT-USB+ supports onboard processing configured through compatible RØDE software. Available processing includes a noise gate, compressor, high-pass filter settings, and APHEX Aural Exciter and Big Bottom processing. The included desktop tripod, ring mount, pop filter, and USB-C cable provide a complete starting setup, while the ring mount can also attach to compatible tripods or studio arms.

Design & Installation

The NT-USB+ has a compact desktop-oriented design with a 184 mm length, 62 mm width, and 50 mm depth. Its ring mount holds the microphone in position and includes a removable 1/4-inch to 5/8-inch thread adapter for use with compatible mounting hardware. A front-facing gold dot identifies the front of the cardioid capsule for correct placement.

Connect the included SC29 USB-C to USB-C cable between the microphone and a USB-C-equipped computer, tablet, or smartphone. A computer with only USB-A ports requires a compatible USB-C-to-USB-A cable, while Lightning-equipped iPhone and iPad models require a compatible Lightning accessory cable. Attach the supplied pop filter for speech or vocal recording, connect headphones to the 3.5 mm output when monitoring is needed, and select NT-USB+ as the input and output device in the recording or communication app.
