The Rockford Fosgate M1-8B is a pair of 8-inch, 2-way coaxial marine speakers designed for boats, powersports vehicles, and other exposed installations. They provide a full-range audio upgrade where conventional speakers may be vulnerable to water spray, salt, vibration, and ultraviolet exposure. The black grille and trim presentation suits darker interior and exterior marine installations.

Each speaker uses a 4-ohm design with a 1-inch balanced-dome tweeter and an integrated crossover network. Color Optix RGB lighting is built into the speakers for coordinated illumination in compatible Rockford Fosgate marine systems. Design & Installation

The M1-8B uses a co-molded mineral-filled polypropylene cone body with a Santoprene VAST surround, a 1-inch LCP balanced-dome tweeter, and a high-temperature Kapton woofer voice-coil former. Its sealed motor and fully sealed integrated concealed crossover support use in exposed environments. The black ASA plastic frame and grille are UV-stable, while zinc-nickel-plated brass terminals help support durable connections.

Confirm a 7.1-inch cutout diameter and at least 3.3 inches of mounting depth at each location. The speakers include grilles and stainless-steel mounting hardware; route speaker wiring separately from Color Optix lighting wiring, and use the optional PMX-RGB controller for app-based RGB control. Rockford Fosgate recommends at least 20-gauge wire when hardwiring Color Optix speakers, and the lighting circuit requires a 9-16 volt supply with a 1-amp recommended fuse rating.
