PreSonus REVELATOR USB Condenser Microphone

The PreSonus REVELATOR is a USB condenser microphone designed for podcasting, streaming, voice-over work, online interviews, and home recording. It combines a microphone, USB audio interface, mixer, onboard effects processor, and headphone amplifier in one desktop-ready unit. This approach helps reduce the need for separate recording hardware for computer-based voice and content-creation setups.

Its three selectable polar patterns make it suitable for more than one recording situation. Cardioid mode focuses on a single source, omnidirectional mode captures sound around the microphone, and Figure-8 mode is useful for two-person recordings. That flexibility supports solo podcasts, shared interviews, vocals, acoustic instruments, and collaborative sessions.

The mono condenser capsule has a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response, 1 mV/Pa sensitivity, and a maximum SPL rating of 110 dB at less than 3% THD. These specifications support detailed voice and acoustic-instrument capture within its intended desktop recording role. A built-in 1/8-inch active stereo headphone output provides direct monitoring while recording or streaming.

Revelator includes onboard Fat Channel processing with a high-pass filter, noise gate, compressor models, EQ models, and limiter. Voice effects include comb filter, delay, doubler, ring modulator, vocoder, and reverb, with eight factory presets and eight user preset locations. Processing settings can be managed from the microphone and through PreSonus Universal Control software.

For streaming and remote production, the USB-C-compatible USB 2.0 connection supports integrated computer audio routing and two stereo loopback channels. Multi Mode configures Revelator as three stereo devices: Revelator, Revelator Loopback 1, and Revelator Loopback 2. This makes it practical to combine a microphone with computer playback, calls, game audio, or backing tracks in one desktop recording system.

Design & Installation

The REVELATOR uses a black desktop microphone design with a built-in stand and integrated cable management. Its compact enclosure measures 5.13 inches wide by 5.13 inches deep and 8.94 inches high. Front-panel hardware controls provide access to direct monitoring, microphone gain, headphone level, mute, and preset selection.

Connect the microphone to a compatible computer or supported mobile device through its USB-C-compatible USB 2.0 connection, then select it as the recording and playback device in the desired application. Connect headphones to the 1/8-inch TRS active stereo output for monitoring, and use Universal Control for advanced routing, polar-pattern selection, monitor mixing, and preset management. For remote interviews or streaming, Multi Mode can separate microphone audio and loopback sources for application-based routing.
