Memphis MXCAM IP68 Waterproof Backup Camera

The Memphis MXCAM is a waterproof backup and trail camera designed to add rearward or situational visibility to compatible vehicle audio displays. It is intended for use with Memphis head units and soundbars that provide a video input. Its IP68-rated construction supports use in wet, dusty, and outdoor vehicle environments.

This camera is a practical option for drivers, off-road users, and powersports owners who want added awareness when reversing or navigating tight terrain. The wide-angle camera view is designed to help reveal obstacles behind or around the vehicle. Built-in trigger wires support reverse-camera integration where the connected display supports it.

The MXCAM uses a CMOS III image sensor with 648 x 488 effective pixels and a 520 TV-line resolution rating. Automatic gain control and automatic backlight compensation are included to manage changing image conditions. Its specified signal-to-noise ratio is greater than 48 dB.

Installation flexibility is a central part of the MXCAM design. It can be installed using the included surface-mount adapter or the included flush-mount hardware. A 6-meter video cable, power cable, flush-mount screws, and hole saw are supplied to support a complete camera installation.

The MXCAM works as a visibility upgrade within a compatible Memphis media-center or soundbar system with video input capability. It operates from a 12V DC vehicle electrical system and draws no more than 300 mA. For the most direct integration, pair it with a display that accepts a backup or auxiliary camera video signal.

Design & Installation

The MXCAM is built as a rugged, IP68-rated camera for vehicle, powersports, and outdoor-oriented applications. Its package includes both surface- and flush-mount solutions, allowing the camera placement and finish to be matched to the installation surface. The included hole saw is intended for flush-mount preparation.

Install the camera where it has a clear view, then route the included 6-meter video cable and power cable to a compatible video-input display and 12V power source. Use the supplied trigger wires when integrating the camera with a compatible reverse-trigger system. Confirm display video-input compatibility and plan cable routing before drilling or permanently mounting the camera.
