The Memphis MJP1000.1 is a mono car subwoofer amplifier designed to supply dedicated low-frequency power in a compact chassis. It delivers 1,000 watts RMS into a 1-ohm load, with lower-power options at 2 and 4 ohms for different subwoofer wiring configurations. This makes it a practical choice for a single-subwoofer system or a matched multi-sub setup.

Its variable low-pass crossover, subsonic filter, bass boost, and phase control provide the adjustments needed to integrate a subwoofer with the rest of a vehicle audio system. The low-pass filter helps limit the amplifier to bass frequencies, while the subsonic filter can be set to reduce very low frequencies below an enclosure's useful range. These controls support more deliberate system tuning rather than relying on a fixed bass setting.

The MJP1000.1 accepts both low-level and high-level signals, allowing it to work with many aftermarket receivers and factory audio systems. Low-level input sensitivity is rated from 200 mV to 6V, while high-level input capability is rated from 3V to 20V. Speaker-level installation requires speaker-wire-to-RCA adapters.

An extruded aluminum heatsink forms the amplifier chassis and provides a compact 7.5 x 9.5 x 2-inch footprint. The amplifier is rated for operation down to 1 ohm and uses a 12 dB/octave Butterworth crossover design. A wired remote level control is included for adjusting subwoofer output from the front of the vehicle.

For systems that need more output, the MJP1000.1 can be strapped with a second matching MJP1000.1 amplifier. The strap configuration uses master/slave operation and is intended only with two identical compatible MOJO Pro mono amplifiers. It is suited to installers planning a system that can begin with one amplifier and expand later.

Design & Installation

The MJP1000.1 uses an extruded aluminum heatsink chassis with exposed aluminum details and an orange MOJO Pro accent strip. Its chassis dimensions are 7.5 inches long, 9.5 inches wide, and 2 inches high. Three onboard 40A fuses provide a total installed fuse rating of 120A.

Mount the amplifier in a dry, ventilated location with clearance around the heatsink and access to its adjustment controls. Use appropriately sized power, ground, remote-turn-on, speaker, and signal wiring; the manufacturer lists the 0GKIT as the recommended amplifier kit, while the amplifier includes 4-gauge ferrules. Match final subwoofer wiring to a supported 1-, 2-, or 4-ohm load, and use a second identical MJP1000.1 only when configuring a strapped system.
