The Memphis LL2BE is a 2-channel line output converter designed to integrate aftermarket amplification with many factory-installed audio systems. It accepts amplified speaker-level signals and converts them into preamp-level outputs for external amplifiers. This makes it a practical option when retaining the original factory radio is preferred.

Its digital bass restoration circuitry is intended to address the bass reduction that can occur in some factory systems as volume increases. The adjustable bass restoration and expansion controls allow the installer to tune the added bass compensation for the vehicle and system. A dedicated bass output supports a subwoofer amplifier, while the main output can feed a full-range amplifier.

The LL2BE uses two active speaker-level inputs rated to accept up to 400 watts per channel at 4 ohms. The LL2BE uses a compact chassis measuring 3.3 inches wide, 1.4 inches high, and 5 inches long, with a 6.125-inch overall length including its mounting provisions. Its control layout includes bass enhancement adjustment, bass-enhancement threshold adjustment, input and output connections, a turn-on selector, and a remote-control port. This compact format helps it fit behind trim panels, under seats, or near an amplifier when sufficient ventilation and secure mounting are provided.

Installation requires connection to power, ground, and the factory system's speaker-level signal. Connect the main output to a full-range amplifier when used, and connect the bass output to a subwoofer amplifier; the 12-volt trigger output can be used to activate connected amplifiers. For bass-restoration setup, Memphis directs installers to identify the factory system's bass drop-off point, adjust the threshold until bass returns, and then fine-tune the enhancement level to suit the system.
