Its seven adjustable EQ bands cover bass, midrange, and treble regions from 50Hz through 16kHz. Each band offers up to 12dB of boost or cut, allowing targeted correction for a system, vehicle cabin, or listening preference. The result is a practical way to refine tonal balance without replacing the head unit.

The MBEQ7B uses a 9-volt preamp line-driver circuit to send a strong signal through its RCA outputs. It is specified with a 10Hz to 20kHz frequency response and a signal-to-noise ratio greater than 99dB. Front, rear, and subwoofer output sections support systems using separate amplifiers for cabin speakers and bass.

Multiple source connections make this processor suitable for both aftermarket and factory-radio upgrades. It accepts RCA source input, high-level speaker input, and a front-panel 3.5mm auxiliary input for a compatible portable media device. An input selector and level controls help match source levels before the signal is sent to the equalizer and outputs.

For bass integration, the MBEQ7B includes selectable subwoofer low-pass frequencies at 60Hz, 80Hz, or 120Hz. Its front and rear channels use selectable 12dB-per-octave high-pass crossover filtering, while the subwoofer output uses low-pass filtering. Install the unit between the source and external amplifier inputs, using the RCA input for a line-level source or the high-level input for speaker-level factory-radio signals. Connect the front, rear, and subwoofer RCA outputs to their corresponding amplifier channels, then select the subwoofer crossover frequency and set input levels carefully. The unit requires +12V power, chassis ground, remote turn-on, and a recommended 2A inline fuse.
