The Audiotek AT-EQ500 is a compact car-audio graphic equalizer designed to give a system more hands-on tonal control before the signal reaches external amplifiers. Its five adjustment bands let an installer or listener raise or reduce selected portions of the audio spectrum rather than relying only on a source unit’s basic tone controls. This processor is a practical option for drivers upgrading an amplified speaker system or adding a subwoofer amplifier. It provides separate level controls for the overall system, front-to-rear balance, and the subwoofer channel. The AT-EQ500 uses five graphic-EQ controls centered at 45 Hz, 100 Hz, 700 Hz, 2 kHz, and 15 kHz. Each band offers boost or cut adjustment, allowing measured corrections for bass weight, midrange presence, and high-frequency detail. The control layout is designed for straightforward manual tuning rather than preset-based processing.

A selectable low-pass section supports the dedicated subwoofer output, with 43 Hz and 63 Hz frequency choices. This allows the subwoofer signal to be managed independently from the front and rear channels. A separate subwoofer-level control makes it easier to match bass output to the rest of the system.

For system integration, the equalizer provides three stereo RCA outputs along with auxiliary stereo RCA inputs and an input selector. The front-panel source switch selects between radio and CD inputs, while the fader control adjusts the front-to-rear output balance in a four-speaker arrangement. It fits well as a signal-control stage between an RCA-equipped source and one or more amplifiers.

Install the unit in an accessible location and connect it in the RCA signal path between the source unit and external amplifier(s). Use the auxiliary stereo RCA inputs and radio/CD selector only with compatible line-level sources, then route the three stereo RCA outputs to the appropriate amplifier inputs. Set amplifier gains conservatively before making EQ boosts, and use the fader, master volume, and subwoofer controls to balance the completed system.
