The Audison BITTEN bit Ten is a digital signal interface processor for integrating, correcting, and tuning a car audio system. It accepts amplified speaker-level signals from a factory or aftermarket source, then supplies five independently processed RCA preamp outputs for external amplifiers. It is designed for systems that need more control than a head unit’s basic tone controls can provide.

This processor is well suited to upgrading a factory system while retaining the original radio and vehicle functions. Its high-level inputs support front and rear source channels, while the stereo AUX input provides a connection point for an additional analog source. A dedicated phone input and mute function support compatible hands-free phone-kit integration.

The bit Ten gives installers control of crossover points, output equalization, level, phase, and time alignment on each output channel. Five 31-band graphic equalizers allow channel-by-channel response adjustment, while the digital delay functions help align speaker arrival times at the listening position. The result is a configurable signal foundation for front/rear/subwoofer or active multi-amplifier layouts.

Its signal processing combines a 32-bit DSP platform with 24-bit A/D and D/A conversion and 24-bit/48 kHz fixed-point processing. Automatic de-equalization on the speaker-level inputs can address preset equalization found in many OEM audio systems. The processor also supports Linkwitz and Butterworth crossover alignments across a broad selectable frequency range.

The five RCA outputs are assigned by software and default to front left/right, rear left/right, and subwoofer. This makes the bit Ten a practical interface between the source unit and separate amplifiers, including systems with an active front stage and subwoofer. PC connection through USB Type-B is used for setup and tuning, while the optional DRC remote interface can provide everyday control functions.

Key Features

  • Five Processed Outputs: Provides independent RCA preamp channels for amplified system layouts.
  • Four High-Level Inputs: Connects to amplified factory or aftermarket speaker outputs.
  • 31-Band Output EQ: Enables detailed tonal adjustment on every output channel.
  • Active Crossover Network: Configures full-range, high-pass, low-pass, or band-pass operation.
  • Automatic De-Equalization: Helps correct preset equalization from compatible OEM sources.
  • Time Alignment: Applies per-channel delay for more coherent speaker timing.

Design & Installation

The bit Ten uses a compact processor chassis measuring 7.51 inches wide, 1.33 inches high, and 4.76 inches deep, with a listed weight of 1.322 pounds. Its connection layout combines a multipolar harness for power, high-level inputs, remote functions, and controls with RCA output connections and a USB Type-B setup port. The design is intended to fit discreetly in a protected vehicle installation location.

Installation requires 11 to 15 VDC vehicle power, ground, source connections, and RCA cables to downstream amplifiers. Use the supplied or compatible PC software to assign outputs, set input sensitivity, apply crossover and equalizer settings, and configure delay; the manufacturer recommends 16 AWG power cable and an external delayed 1 A fuse. For factory-radio integration, connect the four speaker-level master inputs and calibrate the system before final amplifier gain adjustment.
