The KENWOOD CMOS-320LP is a front or rear multi-view vehicle camera package that combines the CMOS-320 camera, a license plate mounting attachment, and a wired switch unit. It is designed to add a camera view to a compatible video monitor or receiver, helping drivers see areas around the vehicle while parking and maneuvering. The included license plate attachment offers an external mounting option without requiring a custom camera housing.

This camera is suited to drivers upgrading an aftermarket multimedia system, replacing a basic rear camera, or adding front-view visibility to a compatible KENWOOD system. Its 1/3.6-inch color CMOS sensor uses approximately 330,000 effective pixels and a wide-angle lens for a broad viewing area. The camera can output a mirrored image for rear-view use or a normal image for front-view use.

The CMOS-320 provides four selectable display modes: Ultra Wide, Wide, Overhead, and Corner. Ultra Wide View covers approximately 195 degrees horizontally, while Wide View covers approximately 135 degrees horizontally. Overhead and Corner modes use the camera's image processing to provide alternate perspectives for low-speed vehicle positioning.

An included switch unit allows the driver to change view modes, show or hide guidelines, and access camera adjustments when the camera is not controlled through a compatible KENWOOD receiver. When connected to a KENWOOD control unit equipped with the camera-control function, view selection and camera adjustment can be handled from the receiver touchscreen. The camera also supports use with a monitor that has a rear-camera or external RCA video input.

The CMOS-320LP is built for exterior installation with a waterproof camera design and a compact camera body. Its 7.5-meter power cable helps support routing from the camera location to vehicle power and the display system. It can be used as a single rear camera or, in compatible KENWOOD systems, as part of a front-and-rear camera arrangement.

Key Features

  • Four Selectable Views: Choose Ultra Wide, Wide, Overhead, or Corner display modes.
  • Front Or Rear Use: Supports normal front-view or mirrored rear-view imaging.
  • 195° Horizontal Coverage: Ultra Wide View provides a broad viewing angle.
  • Wired Switch Unit: Changes views, controls guidelines, and accesses setup functions.
  • License Plate Mount: Includes a powder-coated external mounting attachment.
  • RCA Video Compatibility: Connects to monitors with rear-camera or external video input.

Design & Installation

The camera uses a compact waterproof housing measuring 23.4 x 23.4 x 26.1 mm and weighs approximately 23 g without its cable. Its wide-angle lens has a 1.05 mm focal length and F2.0 aperture. The included license plate mounting attachment has a powder-coated finish and measures 179 x 35 x 29 mm.

For a rear installation, KENWOOD specifies mounting the CMOS-320 at least 50 cm above the ground; for front installation, the recommended height is 30 to 80 cm. Connect the video lead to a rear-camera or external video input, connect the power lead to switched accessory power through its 2 A fuse, and ground it to the vehicle chassis. Temporarily position the camera, adjust its angle and guidelines, then secure the installation after confirming the image and view settings.
