The JBL Stage Marine 8 is a pair of 8-inch two-way marine speakers designed for boat audio systems that need clear sound in open-air conditions. Their 4-ohm design makes them suitable for connection to compatible marine receivers or amplifiers. The gray finish provides an alternative to standard white marine speaker styling.

These speakers are intended for boat owners upgrading factory speakers or building a marine audio system from the ground up. The 8-inch woofer format offers greater cone area than smaller marine speakers while retaining a conventional flush-mount installation format. They are supplied as a stereo pair, allowing one left/right speaker location to be equipped from a single package.

JBL rates the Stage Marine 8 at 125 watts RMS and 375 watts peak power handling, with a 50 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response. Sensitivity is rated at 90 dB at 2.83V, and nominal impedance is 4 ohms. A grille-mounted 1-inch balanced-dome tweeter handles high-frequency detail while the larger woofer supports full-range playback.

Marine-focused construction helps address exposure to spray, sunlight, salt, and changing temperatures. The speakers carry an IPX5 marine rating and use one-piece polymer baskets, rubber surrounds, and attached UV-resistant grilles. Their bridge-mounted tweeters allow the front of the woofer cone to remain sealed to help protect the motor structure from sea spray.

The Stage Marine 8 works well as a direct speaker upgrade in compatible 8-inch cutouts or as part of a larger multi-speaker marine system. Pair it with a compatible 4-ohm marine amplifier or receiver and correctly sized wiring for the installation. For deeper low-frequency output, it can be combined with a separate marine subwoofer and appropriate amplification.

Design & Installation

Each speaker uses a one-piece polymer basket, rubber surround, attached grille, and grille-mounted balanced-dome tweeter. The gray grille and speaker assembly are designed for marine installations, while the UV-resistant grille and sealed woofer-cone arrangement help address exposure to sun and sea spray. JBL specifies an IPX5 marine rating for the speaker system.

Verify available panel clearance before installation: each speaker requires an 8-49/64-inch (172 mm) mounting cutout, has an 8-27/32-inch (225 mm) external diameter, and needs 3-17/32 inches (90 mm) of mounting depth. The package includes stainless-steel mounting hardware, a drill bit, foam gasket, and two speaker pigtail harnesses.
