The Hertz HMX8LD-TC is a pair of 8-inch, 4-ohm marine coaxial speakers designed for boats and powersports installations that need durable full-range sound and integrated RGB lighting. Each speaker combines a woofer and tweeter in one assembly, helping simplify an audio upgrade where dedicated component-speaker mounting is not practical. The black tone-on-tone grille suits installations where a darker, coordinated appearance is preferred.

With 100 watts continuous and 200 watts peak power handling, these speakers are intended for systems using a capable marine-rated head unit or external amplifier. Their 91 dB sensitivity and 45 Hz to 25 kHz frequency response support clear output across bass, midrange, and treble frequencies. The 4-ohm load is compatible with many conventional marine and car-audio amplifier channels.

The HMX8LD-TC uses a 1.4-inch PEI-dome tweeter with a neodymium magnet, faceplate, and acoustic lens. This arrangement is designed to improve off-axis high-frequency dispersion, which is useful when speakers are mounted away from the primary listening position. A sealed built-in crossover directs the appropriate frequency ranges to the woofer and tweeter while incorporating resettable solid-state tweeter protection.

For outdoor use, the woofer uses a polypropylene cone with UV inhibitors and a co-molded Santoprene surround. Its marine-grade polymer basket, corrosion-resistant gold-plated terminals, aramid-fiber spider, and silicone-insulated lead wires are selected for durability in marine and powersports environments. The model carries an IP65 protection rating and is specified for UV-resistance and salt-fog testing standards.

Integrated RGB LEDs are positioned beneath the tweeter and diffuse through a transparent polypropylene cover. The optional Hertz HM RGB 1 BK controller can be used to operate the lighting system. With a 180 mm mounting cutout and 91 mm mounting depth, these speakers fit installations that have sufficient panel space and clearance behind the mounting surface.

The HMX8LD-TC has a black tone-on-tone grille, sound-transparent stainless-steel tweeter mesh, and a marine-grade polymer basket. Its 32 mm woofer voice coil, high-density ferrite woofer magnet, neodymium tweeter magnet, and long-excursion motor system are engineered for high-output marine speaker operation. The speaker is IP65 rated and uses materials selected for exposure to UV, salt fog, water spray, vibration, thermal shock, dust, and mud.

Confirm a 180 mm cutout, 91 mm mounting depth, and 255 mm overall outside diameter before cutting the mounting surface. Connect each speaker to a compatible 4-ohm amplifier or head-unit channel, observing correct polarity and power matching. For RGB operation, route the separate lighting wiring according to the applicable Hertz instructions and add the optional HM RGB 1 BK controller.
