The Cerwin Vega VPAS10V2 is a compact 10-inch powered subwoofer designed to add low-frequency support without requiring a separate enclosure and external amplifier. Its low-profile format is intended for locations with limited space, including many under-seat or confined mounting areas. It is a practical upgrade for drivers who want more bass presence from a factory or aftermarket audio system.

This active subwoofer combines the woofer, enclosure, and amplifier module in one unit. It supports both RCA low-level and high-level speaker input connections, helping it integrate with a variety of source units. That flexibility makes it suitable for systems with dedicated subwoofer outputs as well as many factory radios without RCA pre-outs.

The built-in amplifier is rated at 200 watts RMS and 550 watts maximum. An adjustable low-pass filter helps blend the subwoofer with door or dash speakers, while the selectable phase control can help improve bass integration from the listening position. The adjustable VEGA Bass boost provides additional low-frequency emphasis when used carefully.

A cast-aluminum enclosure serves as the unit's housing and heat-dissipation structure. The VPAS10V2 also uses a PWM MOSFET power supply and thermal-protection circuitry. Soft delayed remote turn-on is included to support controlled startup with compatible vehicle audio systems.

The included remote level knob allows the subwoofer output to be adjusted from an accessible driver location. Its high-level input and auto-power-on capability can simplify installation with compatible OEM systems. For aftermarket systems, the RCA input and remote turn-on connection provide a conventional powered-subwoofer setup.

Design & Installation

The VPAS10V2 uses a low-profile rectangular enclosure constructed from cast aluminum. Its integrated amplifier module, 10-inch subwoofer, and enclosure are packaged together to reduce the number of separate components required for a bass upgrade. The unit measures 13.6 inches long, 9.6 inches wide, and 2.6 inches high.

Mount the subwoofer securely in a location with adequate ventilation and verify clearance before installation. Connect it to the vehicle's 12-volt electrical system with a properly fused power connection and solid chassis ground, then use either RCA or high-level audio inputs as appropriate. Set gain, low-pass filter, bass boost, and phase after installation to blend the bass with the rest of the system.
