The BOSS RC-10R is a compact Rhythm Loop Station that combines stereo looping with structured drum accompaniment. It is designed for players who want to turn musical ideas into complete performances without managing separate looper and rhythm devices. Two footswitches, dedicated level controls, and a backlit LCD provide direct control from a pedalboard or floor setup.

Built for guitarists, singer-songwriters, bassists, keyboard players, and solo performers, the RC-10R supports song-oriented looping rather than a single repeating phrase alone. Its serial two-track architecture lets users build separate song sections in sequence, such as verse and chorus parts. Rhythm patterns stay synchronized with the loop engine for more organized practice, writing, and live arrangements.

The onboard rhythm section includes more than 280 preset styles and 16 drum kits drawn from BOSS and Roland rhythm libraries. Each style provides structured control with Intro, Pattern 1, Pattern 1 Fill, Pattern 2, Pattern 2 Fill, and Ending sections. This makes it practical to add transitions and arrangement changes while keeping both hands on an instrument.

The RC-10R records and plays back stereo audio at 44.1 kHz with 32-bit AD/DA conversion and 32-bit floating-point processing. It offers approximately six hours of total stereo recording time across 99 phrase memories. WAV loops can also be imported through the USB Computer port using compatible BOSS software.

For system integration, the RC-10R provides stereo A/MONO and B inputs and outputs, plus a selectable output filter for guitar amps or full-range amplification. External footswitches, an expression pedal, and MIDI devices can expand hands-free control and synchronization options. It fits naturally into an instrument pedalboard, practice rig, recording setup, or performance system where looping and rhythmic accompaniment are both needed.

Key Features

  • Song-Based Two-Track Looper: Build two independent loop sections in serial order for structured performances.
  • 280+ Rhythm Styles: Add genre-spanning drum accompaniment with fills, intros, endings, and section changes.
  • 16 Drum Kits: Change the drum sound character to suit different songs and playing styles.
  • High-Resolution Audio Engine: Stereo looping uses 32-bit conversion and 32-bit floating-point processing.
  • Expanded External Control: Connect optional footswitches or an expression pedal for additional hands-free functions.
  • MIDI And USB Connectivity: Sync with MIDI gear and import compatible WAV loops or SMF rhythms.

Design & Installation

The RC-10R uses a compact floor-pedal format with two footswitches, two circular playback-status indicators, dedicated rhythm and loop level knobs, and a 16-character by 2-line backlit LCD. Its interface separates rhythm and loop control for quick visual reference during operation. Buffered bypass is provided when the looper is bypassed.

Connect an instrument or stereo source to the INPUT A/MONO and B jacks, then connect the OUTPUT A/MONO and B jacks to a guitar amplifier, PA system, audio interface, or full-range monitors as appropriate. Use the A/MONO jacks for a mono setup, or both A and B connections for stereo operation. Optional external switches, compatible expression pedals, and TRS MIDI cables can be added through the dedicated control and MIDI connections; the supplied AC adaptor powers the unit.
