STX Audio SX0C 0 AWG Amplifier Wiring Kit $69.99
Bundle total: $299.99

The Audiotek AT-8000M is a single-channel Class D car audio amplifier designed for subwoofer systems. It provides a dedicated mono amplification channel for installations that need substantial low-frequency output. Its 1-ohm-stable design supports system layouts built around low-impedance subwoofer loads.

This amplifier is intended for enthusiasts upgrading a factory or aftermarket audio system with dedicated bass reinforcement. A variable low-pass filter, subsonic filter, bass-frequency adjustment, and bass boost provide control over how the subwoofer blends with the rest of the system. A wired remote subwoofer control is included for accessible bass-level adjustment from the cabin.

The AT-8000M is specified with Class D operation and a MOSFET pulse-width-modulated power supply. This design focuses on efficient mono amplification for subwoofer duty. Published output ratings list 4,000 watts at 4 ohms, 5,000 watts at 2 ohms, and 8,000 watts at 1 ohm.

Its signal controls include a 17-50 Hz subsonic filter, a 40-180 Hz low-pass filter, and adjustable bass frequency from 30-80 Hz. These settings help tailor the amplifier to the enclosure, subwoofer capabilities, and crossover point of the overall system. Input gain adjustment supports matching the amplifier to the source unit's signal level.

The AT-8000M fits a bass-focused upgrade path using an aftermarket head unit or a compatible audio signal source, subwoofer enclosure, power wiring, and correctly matched low-impedance subwoofers. Nickel-plated RCA and speaker-level inputs provide connection options. Thermal and speaker-short protection circuitry, along with power and protection LEDs, support monitoring during operation.

Key Features

  • Mono Class D Design: Dedicated single-channel amplification for a subwoofer-focused car audio system.
  • 1-Ohm Stable Operation: Supports compatible low-impedance subwoofer wiring configurations.
  • Published 8,000W Maximum Output: Listed output reaches 8,000 watts into a 1-ohm load.
  • Variable Low-Pass Filter: Adjusts the upper bass cutoff from 40 to 180 Hz.
  • Remote Bass Control: Lets the user adjust subwoofer level from a convenient in-vehicle location.
  • Protection Circuitry: Thermal and speaker-short protection help safeguard the amplifier.

Design & Installation

The amplifier uses a heavy-duty aluminum-alloy heat sink to manage heat during operation. Its MOSFET pulse-width-modulated power supply, nickel-plated connection points, and LED power/protection indicators are designed for a dedicated car-audio installation. The unit is listed as a 1-channel Class D monoblock amplifier.

Install the AT-8000M in a secure, ventilated location and use appropriately sized power, ground, fuse, speaker, and signal wiring selected for the vehicle and system load. Match the final subwoofer impedance to the amplifier's supported load configuration, and set gain, subsonic filter, low-pass filter, and bass controls conservatively during initial setup. A compatible source signal, subwoofer system, enclosure, and vehicle electrical installation are required for operation.
