AUDIO360 AD0C 0 AWG Amplifier Wiring Kit $78.00
Bundle total: $426.30

The Pioneer GM-ME400X4 is a four-channel Class D marine amplifier built to add dedicated power to a boat audio system. It supplies clean amplification for marine speakers while allowing flexible four-, three-, or two-channel system layouts. It is intended for 12-volt, negative-ground boat electrical systems.

At 4 ohms, the amplifier delivers 75 watts RMS to each of its four channels, providing a practical match for many marine speaker systems. It can also deliver higher output into lower impedance loads when the speaker system is designed accordingly. For bridged applications, it can power two channels at up to 300 watts RMS each into 2 ohms.

Its Class D amplifier design helps keep the chassis compact while providing multi-channel output for speakers, subwoofers, or a mixed system. Independent Channel A and Channel B gain and crossover controls allow the amplifier to be adjusted for separate speaker zones or different driver types. The selectable 2-channel or 4-channel input mode also accommodates source units with different numbers of preamp outputs.

Marine-focused details include a conformal-coated circuit board and supplied covers for the panel and fuses. These measures help protect connection and control areas, but the amplifier is not submersible and must be installed in a dry, well-ventilated location. Its protection system monitors abnormal conditions including overheating, DC at the speaker outputs, and speaker-wire shorts.

The GM-ME400X4 can be used to run four full-range speakers, a stereo pair plus a bridged subwoofer channel, or two bridged channels where impedance requirements are observed. Variable high-pass and low-pass filters help tailor the amplified signal to the connected speakers or subwoofers. RCA-level and speaker-level input capability supports upgrades with a wide range of marine source units.

Key Features

  • Four-Channel Class D Design: Powers multiple marine speakers from a compact amplifier chassis.
  • 75W RMS Per Channel: Delivers rated output at 4 ohms across four channels.
  • Bridgeable Channel Pairs: Supports higher-power two-channel or mixed-system configurations.
  • Variable HPF And LPF: Lets you tailor frequency output for speakers or subwoofers.
  • RCA And Speaker-Level Inputs: Works with preamp-equipped and factory-style source outputs.
  • Marine-Oriented Protection: Uses a conformal-coated PCB and supplied protective covers.

Design & Installation

The GM-ME400X4 uses a compact chassis measuring 252 x 60 x 215 mm and weighs 2.4 kg without wiring leads. It has block-type speaker terminals, a negative-ground electrical design, and two installed 30-amp fuses. The conformal-coated circuit board is intended for marine use, while the supplied panel and fuse covers help shield the control and fuse areas.

Install the amplifier on a flat surface in a dry, ventilated area away from direct water exposure, extreme heat, and high humidity. It requires separately sold power, ground, signal, and remote wiring as applicable, plus a separately sold 60-amp battery-line fuse. Use the variable HPF for full-range speakers, LPF for subwoofers, and observe the amplifier's impedance limits when wiring bridged channels.
