JVC KS-DR2104DBT 4-Channel Bluetooth Marine Amplifier

The JVC KS-DR2104DBT is a compact four-channel digital amplifier designed for cars, boats, UTVs, ATVs, and motorcycles. It adds dedicated amplification for speakers while also allowing Bluetooth audio streaming directly from a compatible mobile device. Its compact dimensions make it practical where conventional amplifier space is limited.

At 4 ohms, the amplifier delivers 50 watts RMS to each of four channels across the full rated 20 Hz to 20 kHz range. It can also run at 75 watts RMS per channel into 2 ohms, or be bridged for two-channel operation at 150 watts RMS per channel into 4 ohms. This flexibility supports four-speaker systems, compact powersports builds, or bridged two-channel applications.

Bluetooth 5.0 is integrated through the included waterproof remote control, which houses the Bluetooth antenna. The system supports A2DP and AVRCP profiles along with aptX, AAC, and SBC codecs. The remote provides volume adjustment, playback control, track skip, pairing, preset EQ selection, and pre-out level control.

Built for exposed installations, the KS-DR2104DBT carries IP66 and IP67 water- and dust-protection ratings. Its sealed cast-aluminum chassis, stainless-steel screws, drain tunnel structure, and ASTM B117 salt-spray corrosion testing address marine and off-road conditions. JVC also specifies a 3-axis multi-frequency vibration test for the amplifier.

System tuning is handled with separate variable high-pass and low-pass filters for channels 1-2 and 3-4, plus a fader control and output-mode switch. A 5V maximum pre-out can pass Bluetooth playback to another component. This makes the amplifier suitable as the foundation of a compact amplified speaker system or as part of a larger multi-amplifier installation.

Design & Installation

The KS-DR2104DBT uses a corrosion-resistant sealed cast-aluminum chassis with stainless-steel screws. Its drain tunnel structure spaces the amplifier away from the mounting surface to help reduce saltwater and sand accumulation. The mounting section uses die-cast material, while a heat-transfer sheet and aluminum heat sink are used in its vibration-focused construction.

Installation requires a 12V DC negative-ground electrical system, battery and ground wiring, a power-control connection, speaker wiring, and the supplied remote-control installation. JVC specifies AWG 10 battery and ground wiring, AWG 16 power-control wiring, and a 40A fuse. Keep the dressing panel securely attached to maintain the stated water- and dust-protection performance, and use speaker loads within the stated impedance limits.
