The Hifonics BRL800.4 is a four-channel car audio amplifier designed to add dedicated power to upgraded speakers or support a mixed speaker-and-subwoofer system. It provides four amplified channels in a compact full-range format, making it suitable for vehicles where a factory or aftermarket head unit needs more output capability. Its universal vehicle fitment means installation planning is based on available mounting space and the vehicle's electrical system.

Rated for 125 watts RMS per channel at 4 ohms or 200 watts RMS per channel at 2 ohms, the BRL800.4 can power four speakers with substantial headroom. It can also be configured for two-channel bridged operation, producing 400 watts RMS per bridged channel at 4 ohms. This flexibility supports conventional four-speaker upgrades as well as systems that use one channel pair for speakers and another bridged pair for compatible subwoofers.

The amplifier uses Hifonics Super D Class architecture with a Class-D chipset and half-bridge design. This approach is intended to provide efficient power delivery across its 15Hz-30kHz frequency response range. An iron-core transformer, Ultra-Fi MOSFET output devices, and an ultra-low-EMI design are part of its power and output-stage construction.

Built-in variable high-pass and low-pass filters allow each channel pair to be tailored for the speakers connected to it. Both filters adjust from 40Hz to 2kHz at a 12dB-per-octave slope, while the built-in bass control provides additional system adjustment. The 0.2-9V input range accommodates a broad range of source-unit signal levels.

The BRL800.4 incorporates Intelligent Power Management System protection functions for over-voltage, under-voltage, short-circuit, overcurrent, and thermal conditions. Its illuminated logo can be set to constant blue lighting, VU meter operation, or off. The VU display can provide a visual indication of audio level during setup, while final gain setting should be performed with appropriate tuning practices.

These elements are designed to keep connections accessible while maintaining a clean wiring profile.

Mount the amplifier securely in a location with adequate airflow and avoid mounting it upside down. Use a properly fused power connection, a short and secure chassis ground, and speaker wiring that maintains a 2-ohm minimum load per unbridged channel or 4 ohms per bridged channel. The amplifier accepts RCA inputs and supports speaker-level inputs for integration with compatible factory or aftermarket source units.
