Mogami PLATINUM GUITAR-20 20' TS Instrument Cable $209.95
Bundle total: $909.94

The Gretsch G5622 Electromatic Center Block Double-Cut with V-Stoptail is a right-handed semi-hollow electric guitar designed for players who want hollowbody character with a more focused, stage-ready response. Its double-cutaway construction provides access to the upper frets while retaining the visual and acoustic personality associated with Gretsch center-block instruments. The Aged Walnut finish, gold plexi pickguard, and nickel hardware give it a classic, understated presentation.

This guitar is suited to players seeking an electric guitar that can cover clean, driven, and higher-gain amplifier settings without relying on a fully hollow body design. A chambered spruce center block runs through the laminated maple body to support dynamic resonance, improve articulation, and help manage feedback at volume. The result is a semi-hollow platform that can work for rehearsals, recording, and live performance.

Dual Black Top Broad'Tron humbucking pickups provide a sound centered on articulate response, chiming highs, and added punch. A three-position toggle selects the bridge pickup, both pickups together, or the neck pickup. Individual pickup volumes, master volume, and master tone controls allow practical adjustment of pickup balance and overall output from the guitar.

The G5622 uses a set maple neck with a thin U profile, a 24.6-inch scale length, and a 12-inch-radius laurel fingerboard. Its 22 medium-jumbo frets and double-cut body support a familiar electric-guitar playing feel across the neck. A Graph Tech NuBone nut and sealed die-cast tuning machines complete the core tuning and string-support hardware.

An anchored Adjusto-Matic bridge and Gretsch V-Stoptail provide a fixed-tailpiece setup for players who prefer straightforward string changes and stable bridge positioning. The guitar ships strung with .010-.046 nickel-plated steel strings. It can serve as a distinctive primary electric guitar or as a semi-hollow addition alongside solidbody instruments in an amplified guitar rig.

Key Features

  • Chambered Spruce Center Block: Adds focus and supports use at higher amplified volumes.
  • Laminated Maple Body: Provides the semi-hollow construction, arched top, and arched back.
  • Black Top Broad'Tron Pickups: Deliver humbucking operation with articulate, punchy response.
  • Flexible Control Layout: Includes individual volumes, master volume, master tone, and pickup selector.
  • Anchored Adjusto-Matic Bridge: Provides a fixed bridge paired with the V-Stoptail tailpiece.
  • Thin U Maple Neck: Combines a set-neck design with a 12-inch-radius laurel fingerboard.

Design & Installation

The G5622 is built with an arched laminated maple top and back, laminated maple body material, and aged white binding with black/white/black purfling. Its gloss-finished maple neck is set into the body, while pearloid Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays mark the laurel fingerboard. The Aged Walnut version includes a gold plexi pickguard with Gretsch and Electromatic logos, gold pickup bezels, and nickel hardware.

As an electric guitar, the G5622 connects to a guitar amplifier, pedalboard, or recording interface through its standard instrument output. Set pickup levels with the individual volume controls, then use the master volume and master tone for overall adjustments. A gig bag and hardshell case are optional rather than included; Gretsch lists the G2162 gig bag and G6298 hardshell case as compatible options.
