The EVH Wolfgang Special QM is a right-handed, six-string solidbody electric guitar finished in Charcoal Burst. It is built for players who want a performance-oriented guitar with a locking tremolo system and fast-playing neck. Its basswood body and arched quilt maple top combine a lightweight solidbody platform with a figured top treatment.

Two direct-mount EVH Wolfgang humbucking pickups provide the guitar's HH pickup layout. The bridge, both-pickups, and neck-pickup settings are selected with a three-position toggle switch. A 500K low-friction volume pot with treble bleed circuit and a 250K high-friction tone pot provide straightforward control over the output.

The quartersawn baked maple neck uses bolt-on construction with graphite reinforcement. Its 12-inch to 16-inch compound-radius baked maple fingerboard is fitted with 22 jumbo frets, providing a rounder feel near the nut and a flatter playing area higher on the neck. A heel-mounted spoke-wheel truss rod adjustment makes neck relief adjustments accessible at the base of the neck.

An EVH-branded Floyd Rose locking tremolo, Floyd Rose R2 locking nut, and retainer bar form a double-locking tuning system. The included EVH D-Tuna lets the low E string be switched to Drop D and returned to standard pitch. A brass tremolo block, Floyd Rose 1000 Series locking tremolo arm, and EVH-branded Gotoh tuning machines complete the hardware package.

This guitar is suited to a rig centered on an electric-guitar amplifier, pedalboard, or recording interface with an appropriate instrument input. Its factory-installed .009-.042 nickel-plated steel strings and locking bridge system are intended for players who use vibrato effects and alternate low-string tuning. A tremolo arm, hex keys, and user manual are included, while the compatible hardshell case and gig bag are optional accessories.

Design & Installation

The Wolfgang Special QM uses a gloss urethane-finished basswood body with one-ply cream binding and an arched quilt maple top. Its quartersawn baked maple neck has a hand-rubbed satin urethane finish, black dot position markers, black side dots, and the EVH Wolfgang headstock. Chrome hardware includes an EVH-branded Floyd Rose tremolo, brass block, and EVH-branded Gotoh tuning machines.

Set up the guitar with its locking nut and bridge hardware properly secured before using the tremolo system. The supplied 2.5 mm hex wrench and other hex keys are included for supported adjustments, and the heel-mounted truss rod wheel provides access for neck-relief adjustment. Use the D-Tuna specifically for low-E-to-D changes, and consider the optional EVH Wolfgang hardshell case or EVH black gig bag for transport.
