The G5232LH has a chambered mahogany body with an arched maple top, gloss finish, aged-white body binding, and black-and-white purfling. Its maple set neck has a gloss finish, aged-white binding, and a laurel fingerboard. Chrome hardware includes die-cast tuners, an Adjusto-Matic bridge, and a V-Stoptail.

Set the guitar up with its factory-specification .010-.046 nickel-plated steel strings or a preferred compatible gauge, then connect it to a guitar amplifier with a standard instrument cable. Use the 3-position pickup switch, individual pickup volumes, master volume, and master tone to match the guitar to an amp or pedalboard. For transport, Gretsch lists compatible optional G6238FT hardshell and G2164 gig-bag options.
