Crunch SA-2100.1 Smash Series Monoblock Class AB Amplifier

The Crunch SA-2100.1 Smash Series is a one-channel Class AB car amplifier designed to power a subwoofer system. It provides a dedicated mono output for drivers who want to add low-frequency reinforcement without using a multi-channel amplifier. RMS output is rated at 425 watts at 2 ohms or 285 watts at 4 ohms.

This amplifier is intended for vehicle audio systems using a compatible 2-ohm or 4-ohm subwoofer load. Its mono-only configuration keeps setup focused on bass reproduction, while the built-in bass control provides an accessible way to adjust output from the listening position. A wired bass remote is included.

The SA-2100.1 uses a variable electronic crossover with a 12 dB-per-octave slope to help tailor the amplifier for a subwoofer application. A variable subsonic filter from 10 to 40 Hz helps limit very low-frequency content. Switchable bass boost and phase adjustment add further tuning flexibility.

For signal integration, the amplifier provides RCA inputs as well as high-level speaker inputs for systems that do not have RCA preamp outputs. Its 0.2 to 9V variable input-voltage range supports matching the amplifier to different source-unit signal levels. The frequency response is specified from 10 Hz to 500 Hz.

Crunch equips the SA-2100.1 with SPEED-FET MOSFET output components, a pulse-width-modulated power supply, and QTD aluminum heat-sink technology. Nickel-plated brass terminals are used for the power and speaker connections. LED protection diagnostics monitor overload and speaker-short conditions.

The SA-2100.1 combines a Class AB amplifier platform with a QTD aluminum heat sink intended to disperse heat during operation. SPEED-FET MOSFET components and a pulse-width-modulated power supply are part of its power-stage design. Nickel-plated brass connection terminals are specified for corrosion resistance and secure cable attachment.

Mount the amplifier on a secure surface with adequate ventilation and do not mount it upside down. Installation requires 4-gauge power and ground wiring, while the speaker terminal accepts 12-gauge wire. Match the connected subwoofer system to a supported 2-ohm or 4-ohm load, then set gain, crossover, subsonic filter, bass boost, and phase appropriately for the system.
