Rockford Fosgate R2-300X4 4-Channel Class-D Amplifier

The Rockford Fosgate Prime R2-300X4 is a full-range, four-channel Class-D amplifier for upgrading factory or aftermarket vehicle audio systems. It provides dedicated amplification for front and rear speakers, helping a system play with greater control and output than a head unit’s built-in amplifier. With 300 watts of total rated RMS power, it is designed for compact multi-speaker installations.

This amplifier is well suited to drivers replacing factory door speakers or building a balanced front-and-rear speaker system. It delivers 50 watts RMS to each of four channels at 4 ohms, or 75 watts RMS per channel at 2 ohms. Each front/rear channel pair can also be bridged for higher-power two-channel configurations using compatible 4-ohm loads.

Class-D topology helps reduce electrical demand while keeping the amplifier compact. The R2-300X4 has a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response for full-range speaker use, making it appropriate for component speakers, coaxials, and other midrange/high-frequency applications. Adjustable front and rear crossovers allow the system to be configured around the speakers and any separate subwoofer system.

Rockford Fosgate C.L.E.A.N. circuitry uses input and output clip indicators to assist with gain setup. Balanced differential inputs, high-level input capability, and a 2/4-channel input switch support integration with a variety of factory and aftermarket source units. RCA pass-through outputs can feed an additional amplifier when expanding the system.

Power, protect, and C.L.E.A.N. status indicators provide visual operating feedback.

Use 4 AWG power and ground wiring with a properly installed 60-amp fuse, and use suitable speaker wire up to 8 AWG. The amplifier accepts RCA preamp signals or high-level speaker signals, making it suitable for many factory-radio and aftermarket-radio installations. Mount it securely in a ventilated location, and configure its front and rear crossover sections to match the speakers and overall system design.
