The Rockford Fosgate P1V2-25 is a pair of compact 2.5-inch, 3-way coaxial car speakers designed to replace small factory full-range drivers. They are intended for vehicles with single-speaker locations where added high-frequency detail and improved overall clarity are desired. Each speaker uses a 4-ohm design and is rated for 75 watts RMS.

This pair is suited to factory-system upgrades and compact locations such as select dash, door, or rear-deck positions, provided the vehicle has the required mounting space. Its 150 Hz to 25 kHz frequency response is tailored for small-speaker applications rather than deep-bass reproduction. The included bass blockers help reduce low-frequency content that small drivers may not reproduce accurately.

The P1V2-25 combines a 2.5-inch mica-reinforced polypropylene cone with a 3/4-inch Tetolon inverted-dome tweeter and a 3/8-inch polypropylene piezo super tweeter. This 3-way coaxial layout places the high-frequency drivers within the same speaker assembly. The result is a compact full-range solution with separate drivers handling different portions of the audible range.

Rockford Fosgate specifies VAST 2.0, a surround and cone arrangement designed to increase effective cone area. The speaker also uses a Santoprene surround, Nomex spider, vented Kapton voice-coil former, and Y35 ferrite motor structure. These construction details support use in the vibration and temperature conditions found in automotive interiors.

For fitment flexibility, the P1V2-25 includes a twist-lock adapter arrangement for front- or rear-loading installation. Its 2.54-inch cutout requirement and compact loading depths should be checked against the available space before purchase. It can be used with a factory radio or an appropriately matched aftermarket amplifier, while observing its 75-watt RMS rating per speaker.

Design & Installation

The P1V2-25 uses a mica-reinforced polypropylene cone, Santoprene half-roll surround, Nomex linear spider, and a glass-fiber-reinforced PA66 composite basket. A vented Kapton voice-coil former and high-strength Y35 ferrite motor are part of the speaker motor assembly. Grilles are not included and are available separately.

Confirm a 2.54-inch cutout and sufficient mounting depth before installation, and check door-window and lock movement where applicable. Connect speaker wiring with correct polarity, using the marked positive terminal, and install the supplied non-polarized bass blocker inline on the positive speaker lead. The bass blocker is rated at 1.2 kHz with a 6 dB/octave high-pass slope.
