Rockford Fosgate M2-10HB 10" Marine Horn Speakers

The Rockford Fosgate M2-10HB is a pair of black 10-inch, 2-way full-range marine speakers with integrated horn tweeters. They are built for open-air installations where listeners may be farther from the speakers, such as boats and select UTV applications. Their horn-loaded design supports focused, long-range sound projection in environments where enclosed-cabin speakers are less effective.

Each M2-10HB speaker is rated for 300 watts RMS at 4 ohms, giving the pair a combined continuous-power rating of 600 watts RMS. The 20 Hz to 25 kHz frequency-response range and high sensitivity help them deliver substantial output from an appropriately matched marine amplifier. They are intended for systems that need strong full-range playback rather than subwoofer-only bass reinforcement.

A 1-inch high-efficiency horn tweeter is integrated into each speaker, and the crossover network is concealed and sealed within the assembly. The 12 dB-per-octave crossover helps divide frequencies between the woofer and horn tweeter. This integrated approach simplifies installation while retaining a purpose-built marine speaker layout.

Color Optix RGB LED illumination is built in for coordinated accent lighting. Full app-based lighting control requires a compatible Rockford Fosgate PMX-RGB Color Optix controller, sold separately. The speakers use integrated marine-style connections for audio and RGB lighting wiring.

The M2-10HB is part of Rockford Fosgate's Element Ready marine lineup and is designed for freshwater and saltwater environments. Its materials include UV-resistant components, a salt-fog-resistant TPE surround, corrosion-resistant terminals, and a water-repelling mesh-protected motor structure. Both black Sport grille assemblies and stainless-steel grille inserts are included to support different installation aesthetics.

Design & Installation

The M2-10HB uses an injection-molded, mineral-filled polypropylene cone, a UV- and salt-fog-resistant thermoplastic-elastomer surround, and an injection-molded PA66 frame with 30% glass fill and UV inhibitors. Its aramid-fiber spider, insulated flex leads, vented motor, nano-coated mesh screen, and gold-plated marine-grade brass terminals are designed around the demands of exposed marine use. A fully sealed integrated concealed crossover network and UV-stabilized LED components are part of the speaker assembly.

Each speaker requires a 9.25-inch cutout and 4.66 inches of mounting depth, with six mounting screws spaced at 60-degree intervals on a 10.08-inch screw-mounting diameter. Match the speakers to an amplifier stable at 4 ohms and sized appropriately for their 300-watt RMS rating per speaker. For RGB lighting, use the integrated wiring connection with a compatible Color Optix controller or follow the specified fused wiring guidance; Rockford Fosgate recommends at least 20-gauge wire for the LED circuit.
