Memphis MSCKIT MSeries Coaxial-to-Component Conversion Kit

The Memphis MSCKIT is a conversion accessory for compatible Memphis MSeries coaxial speakers. It allows the center-mounted tweeters to be removed from the woofers and mounted separately. This changes the speaker layout from a coaxial arrangement to a component-style arrangement without replacing the existing speaker pair.

This kit is intended for installers and listeners who want more flexibility in tweeter placement. Separating the tweeters from the woofer locations can help tailor the soundstage and imaging to the vehicle and installation. It is designed for use with MSeries speakers that have removable center tweeters.

Phase plugs take the place of the removed center tweeters in the speaker cones. Memphis supplies phase plugs sized to accommodate MS speakers across the MSeries range. The kit supports listed convertible speaker models including MS57V, MS60V, MS62V, and MS69V.

For tweeter placement, the MSCKIT includes both surface-mount and flush-mount cup options. The surface-mount hardware provides an external mounting approach, while the flush-mount hardware supports a more integrated panel installation. An angled mounting configuration is also shown in the included mounting instructions.

One MSCKIT is designed to convert one pair of MSeries speakers. It contains the phase plugs, tweeter mounting cups, associated mounting pieces, and specified screws only. Speakers and tweeters are not included, so this kit is best used as an upgrade path for an existing compatible MSeries speaker set.

Design & Installation

The MSCKIT is a purpose-built mounting and conversion hardware package rather than a speaker system. Its parts include phase plugs, front casings, bases, retaining rings, and installation screws for the supported mounting configurations. The separate cup styles let an installer select a tweeter position that suits the vehicle panel and system layout.

Install by removing the center tweeter from a compatible MSeries speaker, fitting the applicable phase plug, and mounting the tweeter in the selected cup assembly. Surface mounting uses the supplied cup hardware on a panel, while flush mounting uses a panel opening and retaining ring. Follow the MSeries speaker instructions for component-system wiring and confirm adequate mounting clearance before modifying vehicle panels.
