Infinity Reference 3004A 4-Channel Car Amplifier

The Infinity Reference 3004A is a four-channel car amplifier designed to add clean, controllable power to front and rear speakers. It is suited to drivers upgrading factory-powered speakers or building an aftermarket system that needs more output and tuning flexibility. With four independently amplified channels, it can support a conventional full-range speaker layout or be configured for a bridged two-channel application.

Rated at 75 watts RMS per channel into 4 ohms, the Reference 3004A provides substantially more continuous power than most factory radios. It can also deliver 100 watts RMS per channel at 2 ohms, giving installers flexibility when matching compatible speakers. For two-channel installations, it supports bridged operation at 4 ohms with 200 watts RMS per channel.

The amplifier uses a Class H design intended to provide strong output while managing current draw. Balanced Differential Inputs are used to help reduce noise and distortion, including susceptibility to radiated engine noise. This makes the amplifier a practical choice for installations where clean signal routing and low background noise are important.

Both speaker-level and preamp-level inputs allow the Reference 3004A to work with factory radios as well as aftermarket head units. Its input level control accommodates the different signal voltages associated with those connection types. Full-range preamp outputs also make it easier to add another amplifier without relying on splitters.

Separate variable high-pass and low-pass crossover controls on the front and rear channels help tailor the amplifier to full-range speakers or subwoofers. Built-in protection circuitry monitors for short circuits, overheating, overvoltage, and undervoltage conditions. The compact chassis is designed for installations where available mounting space is limited.

Design & Installation

The Reference 3004A uses a compact black amplifier chassis measuring 12-5/8 inches wide, 2-3/16 inches high, and 7-1/8 inches deep. Its control set includes input-level adjustment, variable crossover settings, and selectable turn-on mode. Status LEDs provide indication when protection conditions are present.

Use 8-gauge power and ground wiring as recommended, and protect the power connection appropriately during installation. The amplifier accepts speaker-level signals through the included bare-wire-to-RCA adapters or low-level preamp signals through RCA connections. Use the front and rear crossover settings to high-pass door speakers, low-pass compatible subwoofers, or run full-range channels as the system requires.
