The Gretsch G5420TG Limited Edition Electromatic '50s is a single-cut hollow body electric guitar with a black gloss finish and gold hardware. It combines a laminated maple body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, and Bigsby-licensed vibrato tailpiece in a classic Gretsch-style platform. It is designed for players seeking an electric guitar with traditional hollow-body construction and versatile onboard controls.

This model is suited to guitarists who want a full-size hollow-body instrument with a comfortable 24.6-inch scale length and Standard "U" neck profile. Its 22 medium-jumbo frets and 12-inch fingerboard radius support chord work, melodic playing, and string bending. The single-cut body provides the visual character associated with vintage-inspired electric guitars.

Dual Black Top Filter'Tron humbucking pickups provide neck, bridge, and combined pickup selections through a three-position toggle switch. Individual neck and bridge volume controls work alongside master volume and master tone controls for practical level and tone adjustment. The pickup configuration gives players direct access to distinct pickup positions without adding external switching hardware.

A secured Adjusto-Matic bridge works with the Bigsby-licensed B60G vibrato tailpiece for adjustable string support and expressive pitch effects. Vintage-style open-back tuning machines, a Graph Tech NuBone nut, and nickel-plated steel .011-.049 strings complete the factory hardware specification. Gold-finished hardware and the 3-ply tortoise pickguard establish the limited-edition visual treatment.

The G5420TG can serve as a primary electric guitar for players building a guitar-and-amplifier setup or as a distinct hollow-body option alongside solid-body instruments. Its controls allow the guitar's output and tone to be shaped before the signal reaches pedals or an amplifier. A protective case or gig bag should be selected separately, as a case is not included.

Design & Installation

The G5420TG uses a laminated maple Electromatic hollow body with a gloss black finish, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, pearloid hump block inlays, and gold hardware. Its single-cut profile is paired with a 3-ply tortoise pickguard carrying a gold Gretsch logo. The instrument has 22 medium-jumbo frets, a Graph Tech NuBone nut, and vintage-style open-back tuning machines.

Set up the guitar with the supplied .011-.049 nickel-plated steel string gauge or have a qualified guitar technician adjust the setup when changing string gauges. The secured Adjusto-Matic bridge and Bigsby-licensed B60G tailpiece should be kept properly adjusted for the player's preferred action and vibrato use. Use the three-position pickup switch, individual pickup volumes, master volume, and master tone controls to dial in the desired output before connecting to the rest of a guitar rig.
