The Fender CD-60SCE is a right-handed acoustic-electric dreadnought guitar designed for players who want an acoustic instrument that can also connect to amplification. Its full-size body supports strong projection for home practice, group playing, and small performance settings. The Venetian cutaway improves access to upper frets for lead passages and higher-position chords.

This model suits beginning through intermediate players looking for a familiar steel-string acoustic feel with onboard electronics. The Fender Easy-to-Play mahogany neck uses rolled fingerboard edges to create a smoother feel along the walnut fingerboard. A 25.3-inch scale length, 1.69-inch nut width, and 20 vintage-size frets provide a traditional dreadnought playing platform.

A solid spruce top is paired with laminated mahogany back and sides for a clear, projecting acoustic voice with warmth from the mahogany construction. Quartersawn scalloped X-bracing supports the solid top while helping it respond to both strumming and picked playing. The dreadnought form is well suited to players who prefer a broad, full-bodied acoustic sound.

For amplified use, the CD-60SCE includes a Fishman CD preamp system with a low-profile pickup and built-in tuner. Volume, bass, and treble controls allow practical tone adjustment from the guitar. This makes it possible to connect the instrument to a suitable acoustic amplifier, PA system, or compatible instrument input when an amplified signal is needed.

The black gloss finish, chrome die-cast tuners, pearloid rosette, and black pickguard give the instrument a classic Fender acoustic presentation. A walnut bridge and white bridge pins with black dots complete the hardware layout. It is supplied without a case or gig bag, so players who travel with the guitar should plan to add appropriate protection separately.

Design & Installation

The CD-60SCE combines a gloss-finished solid spruce top with mahogany back, sides, and neck, plus a walnut fingerboard and bridge. Its dreadnought cutaway body includes multiple body binding, a CD Series pearloid rosette, 3 mm pearloid dot inlays, and chrome hardware. The neck uses a dual-action truss rod, crème plastic nut, and a traditional Fender headstock.

No installation is required for acoustic playing; tune the six factory-installed 80/20 bronze strings and play. For amplified use, connect the guitar to an appropriate acoustic amplifier or PA/instrument input with a compatible instrument cable, then use the onboard volume, bass, and treble controls for setup. A case or gig bag is not included, and the onboard preamp requires a 9V battery for operation.
