The Gretsch G5222 Electromatic Double Jet BT is a right-handed, double-cut solidbody electric guitar finished in Aged Natural. It is built for players who want a compact-feeling Gretsch Jet platform with humbucking pickups, individual pickup controls, and a fixed tailpiece. The chambered mahogany body and arched maple top combine classic materials with a streamlined stage-ready layout.

This model suits guitarists playing rock, blues, indie, alternative, and other amplified styles that benefit from clear note separation and substantial midrange presence. Its pair of Black Top Broad'Tron pickups provides neck and bridge pickup voices selected with a three-position toggle. Individual pickup volume controls, a master volume, and a master tone make it practical to tailor output and blend settings from the guitar.

The G5222 uses a set mahogany neck with a Thin "U" profile, a 24.6-inch scale length, and a 12-inch-radius laurel fingerboard. Its 22 medium-jumbo frets and double-cut body give access across the fingerboard for rhythm work, lead playing, and chord voicings. Pearloid Neo-Classic Thumbnail inlays and white binding provide recognizable Electromatic Jet styling.

Black Top Broad'Tron pickups are paired with a master-volume treble-bleed circuit, helping preserve clarity as the master volume is reduced. The pickup layout includes a dedicated volume control for each pickup, allowing players to balance the neck and bridge positions before switching between them. This makes the guitar useful for moving between cleaner settings, driven amp tones, and blended pickup sounds without changing amplifier controls.

An Anchored Adjusto-Matic bridge and Gretsch V-Stoptail provide a stable fixed-bridge configuration for players who prefer straightforward string changes and solid tuning hardware. The G5222 can serve as a complete plug-in electric guitar for a conventional amplifier setup, or as a foundation for pedalboards and modeling systems. It ships fitted with nickel-plated steel .010-.046 strings, while compatible Gretsch gig bags and hardshell cases are available separately.

Key Features

  • Chambered Mahogany Body: Delivers the Jet platform in a double-cut solidbody design.
  • Arched Maple Top: Adds a traditional contrasting top construction.
  • Black Top Broad'Tron Pickups: Provide neck and bridge humbucking pickup voices.
  • Treble-Bleed Master Volume: Helps retain clarity when lowering overall guitar volume.
  • Anchored Adjusto-Matic Bridge: Supports stable intonation in a fixed-bridge layout.
  • V-Stoptail Tailpiece: Offers a direct, non-tremolo string anchoring system.

Design & Installation

The G5222 has a gloss-finished chambered mahogany body with an arched maple top, white binding with black-and-white purfling, and chrome hardware. Its set mahogany neck has a gloss finish, Thin "U" profile, white binding, and laurel fingerboard. A black Plexi pickguard with white Gretsch logo, G-Arrow control knobs, and pearloid Neo-Classic Thumbnail inlays complete the visual design.

This is a passive electric guitar designed to connect to a guitar amplifier, pedalboard, audio interface, or amp-modeling rig with a standard instrument cable. Use the three-position toggle to select bridge, both, or neck pickups, then set individual pickup volumes and the master controls to suit the rig. A case or gig bag is not included; Gretsch lists optional G6238FT hardshell and G2164 gig bag solutions.
