The Gretsch G5220 Electromatic Jet BT is a right-handed single-cut electric guitar finished in Bristol Fog. It is built for players seeking a compact solidbody-style Gretsch instrument with dual humbucking pickups and a fixed bridge-and-tailpiece design. Its chambered construction balances the familiar feel of a solidbody with a more resonant acoustic character.

A chambered mahogany body and arched laminated maple top form the foundation of the G5220. This combination is designed to provide a present midrange while retaining substantial lows and clear highs. The gloss-finished Jet body is paired with white binding and black-and-white purfling for a defined vintage-inspired appearance.

Two Black Top Broad'Tron pickups provide the guitar's humbucking voice. A three-position toggle selects bridge, both-pickup, or neck-pickup operation, while separate pickup volume controls support blending between the two pickups. Master volume, master tone, and treble-bleed circuitry provide straightforward control from clean settings through higher-gain sounds.

The set mahogany neck uses a Thin U profile, a 24.6-inch scale length, and a 12-inch-radius laurel fingerboard. Its 22 medium-jumbo frets, synthetic bone nut, and pearloid Big Block inlays support familiar electric-guitar playability. White neck binding, black side dots, and a bound headstock complete the neck detailing.

An Anchored Adjusto-Matic bridge and Gretsch V-Stoptail create a fixed-string anchoring system suited to players who prefer a non-vibrato setup. Chrome hardware, die-cast tuning machines, and the included factory .010-.046 nickel-plated steel string gauges make it ready for standard electric-guitar use. Optional Gretsch hardshell and gig bag solutions are available separately for transport and protection.

Key Features

  • Chambered Mahogany Body: Reduces body mass while pairing mahogany resonance with a solidbody-style platform.
  • Arched Maple Top: Adds a laminated maple top to the chambered mahogany body construction.
  • Black Top Broad'Tron Pickups: Dual humbucking pickups provide neck, bridge, and combined pickup selections.
  • Treble-Bleed Master Volume: Helps retain high-frequency content when the master volume is reduced.
  • Set Mahogany Neck: Delivers a fixed neck construction with a Thin U profile.
  • Anchored Adjusto-Matic Bridge: Works with the V-Stoptail for a fixed bridge and tailpiece arrangement.

Design & Installation

The G5220 uses a gloss-finished chambered mahogany body with a gloss mahogany set neck and arched laminated maple top. Its visual details include white body and neck binding, black-and-white body purfling, pearloid Big Block fingerboard inlays, a black Plexi pickguard, and chrome hardware. The guitar is fitted with Gretsch knurled strap retainer knobs, G-Arrow control knobs, and die-cast tuning machines.

This is a right-handed, six-string electric guitar with factory nickel-plated steel strings in .010-.046 gauges. For setup, use the three-position pickup toggle with the individual neck and bridge volume controls, master volume, and master tone to shape the pickup blend. The manufacturer lists an optional G6238FT flat-top solidbody hardshell case and optional G2164 solidbody gig bag for carrying the instrument.
