The Gretsch G5021E Rancher Penguin is a right-handed parlor-size acoustic-electric guitar with classic Penguin styling and built-in stage-ready electronics. Its compact body format suits players who want an acoustic guitar that is easier to handle than a large dreadnought or jumbo. The solid spruce top and laminated maple body pair traditional acoustic construction with a distinctive Gretsch visual identity.

This model is designed for players who move between unplugged practice, songwriting, recording, and amplified performances. The parlor body provides a compact playing platform, while the 25-inch scale and Standard U mahogany neck offer familiar acoustic-guitar proportions. Twenty vintage-style frets and a 12-inch-radius laurel fingerboard support chord work, melodic playing, and fingerstyle approaches.

A solid spruce top is paired with laminated maple back and sides, X-bracing, and a laurel bridge. This construction gives the guitar an articulate acoustic foundation with the direct response associated with a spruce-top instrument. The body measures 19 inches long and 4.375 inches deep for a substantial yet manageable parlor design.

For amplified use, the G5021E includes a Fishman Presys III pickup system with an active onboard preamp and tuner. Onboard controls provide volume plus bass, middle, and treble adjustment, along with a low-battery indicator and tuner on/off switch. This lets a player make basic stage-side tone adjustments without adding a separate external preamp.

The Black gloss finish, gold hardware, gold sparkle binding, and gold plexi Penguin pickguard give this acoustic-electric a coordinated vintage-inspired appearance. Deluxe die-cast tuning machines, a synthetic bone nut, and D'Addario EJ16 phosphor bronze light strings complete the factory specification. It can serve as a compact primary acoustic-electric, a stage-ready second guitar, or a visually distinctive addition to an acoustic setup.

The G5021E uses a gloss-finished laminated maple body with a solid spruce top and X-bracing. Its mahogany neck carries gold sparkle binding with W/B/W purfling, while the laurel fingerboard has pearloid Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays. Gold-finished hardware, a gold plexi pickguard, and deluxe die-cast tuners complete the Black Penguin presentation.

No vehicle-style installation is required; this is a self-contained acoustic-electric guitar. For amplified performance, connect the guitar's onboard Fishman-equipped output to a compatible acoustic guitar amplifier, DI, mixer, or recording interface input as appropriate for the rest of the system. A case or gig bag is not included; Gretsch lists optional G6291 Folk Hardshell and G2188 Folk/Rancher JR/Orchestra Gig Bag options.
