AUDIO360 AD4C 4 Gauge Amplifier Wiring Kit $50.00
Bundle total: $267.48

The Cerwin-Vega CVPM400.4D is a compact four-channel car audio amplifier designed to add dedicated power to front and rear speakers. It is a practical choice for replacing the limited output of a factory radio or supporting an aftermarket head unit. Its four-channel layout can drive a full speaker system or be configured for a three-channel setup using two bridged channels.

Rated at 60 watts RMS per channel at 4 ohms, the CVPM400.4D is suited to efficiently powering compatible coaxial or component speakers. It can also deliver 90 watts RMS per channel at 2 ohms when the speaker load and installation are appropriate. The amplifier is designed for clean, controlled speaker output rather than relying on head-unit power alone.

Full Class-D topology and a full PWM power supply help the amplifier provide useful output from a notably small chassis. The compact 7.64-inch-long enclosure can make placement easier in vehicles with limited installation room. A 10.0 to 17.0V DC operating range supports use in conventional negative-ground 12V vehicle electrical systems.

Built-in high-pass filtering is adjustable from 15 to 250 Hz, allowing the amplifier to be matched to door, dash, or rear-deck speakers. The high-pass crossover is always active, with its lowest setting intended to function close to full-range operation. Vega Bass Boost provides adjustable low-frequency boost from 0 to +12 dB at 45 Hz for systems that can accommodate it.

The CVPM400.4D accepts high- or low-level input signals, making it adaptable to many factory and aftermarket source units. It also includes power and protection status indicators, a remote level-control port, and bridge capability for two 4-ohm speaker loads. Pair it with properly matched speakers, suitable wiring, and a fused power connection for a compact multi-speaker upgrade.

Key Features

  • Four-Channel Design: Powers front and rear speakers from one compact amplifier.
  • Class-D Topology: Delivers efficient amplification in a small chassis.
  • 60W RMS at 4 Ohms: Provides dedicated power for compatible full-range speakers.
  • 2-Ohm Stable Stereo Operation: Supports 90W RMS per channel at 2 ohms.
  • Adjustable High-Pass Filter: Helps protect speakers from unwanted low frequencies.
  • High- and Low-Level Inputs: Works with speaker-level or RCA source signals.

Design & Installation

The CVPM400.4D uses a compact digital amplifier platform with a full PWM power supply and an internal ATC mini fuse. Its side-panel controls provide access to gain, high-pass crossover adjustment, bass boost, input connections, power terminals, and speaker terminals. Power and protection LEDs help indicate normal operation or a protection condition.

Install the amplifier on a solid, ventilated surface with its controls accessible after mounting. Use at least 8-gauge power and ground wire, 18-gauge remote wire, and a properly sized external fuse near the vehicle battery; maintain a minimum 2-ohm stereo load or 4-ohm bridged load. For speaker systems, begin high-pass adjustment around 60 to 80 Hz and set gain carefully to match the source unit without using it as a volume control.
