A poplar body and bolt-on maple neck give this bass a practical, familiar foundation for practice, rehearsal, recording, and live bass rigs. The satin-finished neck uses Jackson's speed neck contour for a streamlined feel. Its 24 jumbo frets provide two full octaves of range on each string.

As a passive/active electric bass, the JS3 connects to a bass amplifier, DI, recording interface, or pedal chain with a standard instrument cable. The installed nickel-plated steel strings are gauged .045-.105, and the bass includes a saddle-height wrench and truss-rod wrench for setup adjustments. Use the push/pull volume control in passive mode if the active circuit is not desired or battery power is unavailable.
