The Fender Player II Jazz Bass 140482506 is a right-handed, four-string solid-body electric bass finished in Black with a maple fingerboard. It provides the familiar Jazz Bass layout for players who need a versatile instrument for rehearsals, recording, and live performance. Its offset alder body and dual-pickup design support a broad range of bass parts without adding onboard digital electronics.

This model is suited to bassists who want separate control over the two single-coil pickups rather than a fixed pickup blend. Individual volume controls for the middle and bridge pickups let the player combine their outputs, while the master tone control adjusts overall brightness. The Player Series Alnico 5 Jazz Bass pickups are designed to deliver clear highs, defined midrange, and substantial low end.

A maple neck with Fender's Modern “C” profile gives this bass a familiar, comfortable playing shape. The 9.5-inch-radius maple fingerboard has rolled edges and 20 medium-jumbo frets for a smooth fretting surface. Its full 34-inch scale length provides the standard long-scale feel used by many electric bass players.

The hardware centers on a four-saddle standard bridge with single-groove steel barrel saddles and five-screw vintage-style mounting. Each saddle can be adjusted for setup and intonation, while standard open-gear tuning machines support routine tuning adjustments. Fender fits the instrument with USA 7250M nickel-plated-steel strings in .045–.105 gauges.

Use the Player II Jazz Bass with an instrument cable and a compatible bass amplifier, audio interface, or pedal-based bass rig. Its dual-pickup control layout can work as a straightforward foundation for a practice setup or as the bass source in a larger performance and recording system. A case or gig bag is not supplied, so a compatible protective option should be selected separately for transport.

Key Features

  • Contoured Alder Body: Solid alder construction with the offset Jazz Bass body shape.
  • Maple Fingerboard: 9.5-inch radius and rolled edges support comfortable fretting.
  • Modern “C” Maple Neck: A familiar neck profile for varied playing styles.
  • Dual Alnico 5 Pickups: Separate single-coil pickups provide blendable Jazz Bass tones.
  • Three-Knob Control Layout: Two pickup volumes and master tone allow direct tonal adjustment.
  • Four-Saddle Bridge: Steel barrel saddles allow individual string setup and intonation.

Design & Installation

The Player II Jazz Bass uses a gloss polyester-finished alder body, a maple neck, and a maple fingerboard with black dot position markers. Nickel/chrome hardware, a 3-ply black/white/black pickguard, black pickup covers, and black control knobs complement the Black finish. The neck is secured with a four-bolt standard construction and an “F” logo neck plate.

As an electric bass, this instrument does not mount into a vehicle or use speaker wiring. Connect its output to a bass amplifier, pedalboard, or audio interface with a standard instrument cable, then set pickup volumes and master tone to suit the rest of the rig. Setup adjustments use a .070-inch hex wrench for saddle height and a 3/16-inch hex wrench for the head-adjust truss rod.
