The Fender Player II Precision Bass is a right-handed, four-string electric bass built for players who want the direct layout and familiar feel of a Precision Bass in a current-production instrument. Finished in Birch Green, it combines a contoured alder body with a maple neck and maple fingerboard. Its straightforward control set keeps operation simple for rehearsal, recording, and live performance.
A Player Series Alnico 5 split single-coil Precision Bass pickup supplies the instrument's voice. The pickup is paired with master volume and master tone controls, allowing players to set output level and adjust treble response without a pickup selector. This focused configuration suits bassists who prefer a single, consistent P Bass foundation.
The maple neck uses Fender's Modern "C" profile and a satin urethane finish on the back, with gloss urethane on the front. Its 9.5-inch maple fingerboard has rolled edges, 20 medium-jumbo frets, and black dot position markers. A 34-inch scale length and 1.625-inch synthetic-bone nut provide familiar full-scale bass dimensions.
Hardware includes a 4-saddle standard bridge with single-groove steel barrel saddles and five-screw vintage-style mounting. Standard open-gear tuning machines, a four-bolt neck plate, and nickel/chrome hardware support the instrument's traditional Precision Bass format. The factory string set is Fender USA 7250M nickel-plated steel in .045-.105 gauges.
This bass is a practical choice for players assembling a first bass rig or adding a dependable four-string to an existing setup. Its passive-style volume-and-tone layout and single split-coil pickup make it easy to integrate into bass amplification, recording, or DI-based workflows. A compatible hard case and gig bag are available separately from Fender.
Key Features
- Birch Green Finish: Distinctive Birch Green gloss polyester body finish.

- Player Series Pickup: Alnico 5 split single-coil Precision Bass pickup.
- Modern "C" Neck: Maple neck profile for familiar contemporary playability.

- 4-Saddle Bridge: Steel barrel saddles support individual string adjustment.
Design & Installation
The Player II Precision Bass uses a solid alder body with a gloss polyester finish, a maple neck, and a maple fingerboard. Its parchment three-ply pickguard, black pickup cover, black dot inlays, and nickel/chrome hardware complement the Birch Green finish. The neck attaches with a four-bolt standard construction and an "F" logo neck plate.
Use the bass with compatible bass amplification, recording equipment, or a DI-based setup. Fender specifies .070-inch hex adjustment for saddle height and a 3/16-inch hex wrench for the head-adjust single-action truss rod. For transport, Fender recommends its Classic Series Precision/Jazz Bass wood hardshell case or FB1225 Electric Bass Gig Bag; both are sold separately.
