The Fender Player II Precision Bass is a right-handed, four-string solid-body electric bass finished in Coral Red. It provides the familiar Precision Bass layout for players seeking a direct, dependable instrument for rehearsal, recording, and live performance. Its alder body and maple neck create a traditional platform with modern Player II appointments.
This bass is suited to players who want the focused fundamental and strong low-end presence associated with a split-coil Precision Bass design. The Player Series Alnico 5 Split Single-Coil Precision Bass pickup is paired with simple master-volume and master-tone controls. That straightforward control set makes it easy to shape the output at the instrument before it reaches an amplifier, DI, pedalboard, or recording interface.
The 34-inch scale length, 20 medium-jumbo frets, and 1.625-inch synthetic-bone nut support standard long-scale bass technique. Its Modern "C" maple neck has a satin urethane back finish, while the slab rosewood fingerboard has a 9.5-inch radius and rolled edges. Together, these details are intended to provide a smooth, familiar playing surface for fretting and shifting.
A Player Series Alnico 5 split-coil pickup supplies the core voice, with a split-coil configuration designed for the Precision Bass format. The four-saddle standard bridge uses single-groove steel barrel saddles for individual string adjustment. Standard open-gear tuning machines complete a conventional, serviceable hardware package.
The Player II Precision Bass fits naturally into bass rigs built around a dedicated bass amplifier, DI box, pedalboard, or recording interface with an instrument input. It ships strung with Fender USA 7250M nickel-plated-steel strings in .045-.105 gauges. A compatible hard case or gig bag is available separately for transport and protection.
Key Features
- Coral Red Finish: Provides a distinctive finish on the contoured solid alder body.
- Alder Body: Forms the classic solid-body foundation of this Precision Bass.
- Modern "C" Neck: Offers a familiar maple-neck profile with a satin back finish.
- Slab Rosewood Fingerboard: Combines a 9.5-inch radius, rolled edges, and white dot markers.
- Alnico 5 Split-Coil Pickup: Delivers the single-pickup Precision Bass voice through passive controls.
- Four-Saddle Bridge: Allows individual string setup adjustment with steel barrel saddles.
Design & Installation
The instrument uses an alder Precision Bass body with a gloss polyester finish, a four-bolt maple neck, and nickel/chrome hardware. Its black/white/black three-ply pickguard, knurled flat-top control knobs, and open-gear tuning machines maintain a traditional Precision Bass visual layout. The neck uses a single-action, head-adjust truss rod and a synthetic-bone nut.
This is an electric bass guitar rather than a vehicle-installation product; it connects to bass amplification or recording equipment with a standard instrument cable. For normal setup, use the supplied .070-inch hex wrench for saddle-height adjustment and the supplied 3/16-inch hex wrench for truss-rod adjustment when appropriate. A Classic Series Precision/Jazz Bass wood hardshell case and FB1225 electric bass gig bag are recommended separately.
