Audison APK570 5 x 7" 2-Way Component Speakers

The Audison APK570 is a 2-way component speaker system designed for vehicles with factory 5 x 7-inch elliptical door-speaker locations. It combines AP 570 woofers, AP 1 tweeters, and dedicated APCX TW 570 passive crossovers. This kit is intended for replacing factory door speakers while retaining a separate tweeter layout.

With 100 watts continuous and 300 watts peak power handling, the APK570 is suited to amplified systems as well as compatible factory or aftermarket head-unit upgrades. Its 4-ohm nominal impedance supports common car-audio amplification configurations. The rated 55 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response covers midbass through high-frequency reproduction.

The AP 570 woofer uses a 32 mm pure-copper voice coil and a water-repellent treated paper cone. Its cone profile was developed with FEM simulation and optimized using Klippel R&D Scan Vibrometer measurement. A Triple Wave surround is used to support linear cone excursion.

The separate AP 1 tweeter uses a 26 mm diaphragm with a wide-roll surround. Its acoustic lens is designed to address in-car response effects in the 10 kHz to 13 kHz range associated with challenging OEM tweeter placements. The dedicated crossover routes high frequencies to the tweeter at a specified 3 kHz high-pass point.

For OEM-focused installation, the APK570 uses a compact woofer basket and reduced mounting depth. High-current double-contact Faston terminals simplify woofer and tweeter connections, while the compact crossover includes selectable tweeter attenuation. It is a practical option when a vehicle already accommodates 5 x 7-inch door woofers and separate tweeters.

Design & Installation

The AP 570 woofer combines a treated paper cone, Triple Wave surround, pure-copper voice coil, and compact coated basket. Its motor is secured with damping epoxy adhesive, while the AP 1 tweeter uses a wide-roll surround and acoustic lens. The crossover is compact and includes Faston connectors intended to reduce connection errors.

Confirm that the vehicle has suitable 5 x 7-inch woofer openings and provisions for separate tweeters before installation. Use the included dedicated APCX TW 570 crossovers between the audio source or amplifier and the individual woofer and tweeter connections. Match the system to a compatible 4-ohm amplifier or speaker output and observe the 100-watt continuous power rating when setting amplifier gain.
