The Hifonics Colossus Classic HCC5768CX is a pair of 5x7-inch coaxial car speakers designed to also fit many 6x8-inch factory locations. They provide a practical replacement path for worn or basic factory speakers while retaining a conventional 4-ohm load for broad car-audio compatibility. Each speaker combines a woofer and tweeter in one assembly for straightforward full-range installation.

With 65 watts RMS and 125 watts peak power handling per speaker, the HCC5768CX is suited to aftermarket head units as well as appropriately matched external amplification. Its 88 dB sensitivity supports useful output without requiring an unusually large amplifier. The specified 80 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response covers midrange and treble duties, while a subwoofer can be added for deeper low-frequency reinforcement if desired.

A blue woven-fiber woofer cone is paired with a 1-inch aluminum dome tweeter to reproduce midrange detail and high-frequency content. The butyl-rubber surround supports cone movement and is selected for durability in an automotive environment. A passive Butterworth crossover directs frequencies between the woofer and tweeter for a cohesive two-way design.

The speaker motor uses a ferrite magnet, pure-copper voice coil, and Kapton former assembly. An overcoil cooling design and epoxy-infused natural-fiber spider are incorporated to support consistent operation during extended listening. Braided tinsel leads connect the moving assembly while helping maintain reliable signal transfer.

For an upgrade system, the HCC5768CX can be used as a direct-replacement pair in compatible doors, rear decks, or other factory 5x7/6x8 locations. Its 2.13-inch top-mount depth and 8.60 by 5.56-inch cutout requirement should be checked against the vehicle before installation. Use the speakers with clean, properly set power and retain factory grilles where applicable, as grilles are not included.

The HCC5768CX uses an anti-resonant stamped-steel basket, ferrite magnet structure, woven-fiber cone, butyl-rubber surround, and 1-inch aluminum dome tweeter. Its copper voice coil is built on a Kapton former, while the natural-fiber spider is epoxy infused. The coaxial design also incorporates a passive Butterworth crossover and braided tinsel leads.

Confirm that the vehicle accepts a 5x7-inch or 6x8-inch speaker and has at least 2.13 inches of mounting depth before purchase. The required cutout is 8.60 by 5.56 inches, and wiring may be connected using the speaker's spade terminals or by soldering. The package includes two speakers; no speaker grilles are included.
